Credits to Young Royals (Season 2 Episode 4) for giving me this idea. This is based off of the scene where Felice is comforting Wilhelm, because I thought it was really sweet. If you haven't watched Young Royals yet, I highly recommend it! Okayyy, I hope you like this!!

I try to focus my sights on the screen in front of me, but my eyes are pleading me to allow them to snap shut. I let out a sigh and shift my weight around the bed uncomfortably.

"What's wrong?" c/n asks from beside me, centering on my frowning lips.

I shrug my shoulders and flick my hair away from my face. "I don't want to watch this movie."

Too much has been going wrong in my life lately, and I've been feeling overwhelmed with stress as the days crawl by. I haven't been able to sleep or pay attention in school, let alone watch an entire movie.

"Is there anything else we can do instead?" c/n suggests, placing a comforting hand on top of my trembling fingertips.

"Can you just hold me?"

A sympathetic smile etches itself onto c/n's lips and he leans forward to pull me closer to him. He wraps his arms around my shoulders and I place my head on his chest.

"Oh, y/n," he mumbles, picking up strands of my hair with his delicate fingertips.

I close my eyes and breath in c/n's cinnamon scent that always brings me a sense of peace. I sink deeper into his body and listen to his heartbeat; a pounding bass drum. My head follows his breathes as his chest heaves up and down.

"I love you," the truthful words slip out of my mouth without me even realizing.

I keep my eyes closed and wait for a response, but he remains silent. His heart says thump, thump, thump...

If home really is a certain place, mine is right here. My head against his torso with his arms draped over my figure, securely holding me in place. The smell of his loose sweater and the constant beating of that bass drum.

"I love you, too."
