Afiya's POV :
It was five in the morning when I woke up. I performed wudu, prayed salat ul fajr, and made a lot of duas to ask Allah to guide, protect, forgive, accept, and assist me. I also made duas for the success of today's interview. I wanted to get a little more sleep, so after my prayer, I set the alarm for 6:30. Once again, I got up at 6:30 and got ready by donning a floor-length, sky-blue dress with a floral print and matching blue hijab.
When I got to the company, it was housed in a massive, tall building. When I inquired about the interview, the receptionist informed me that it was on the eighth floor, so I rode the elevator to get to my floor. A familiar face caught my attention in the hallway, but I shrugged it off, asking myself, "How can he be here?" I inhaled deeply and entered the room. And I was startled to see that it was Azlan, sir—that familiar face.
I said good morning and they motioned for me to take a seat across from them. I did so and said I was prepared to answer any questions they might have.
Azlan's POV :
Though seeing those brown eyes surprised me, it did not shock me because I knew it was her. Instead, I was amused and asked her a few questions. Why are you interested in a job here? "Why should I think about hiring you?" and "Tell us a little bit about your extracurricular and work experience."
Despite her nervous appearance, she answered them with confidence, saying, "I should be hired for this role because of my relevant experience, passion for the industry, and skills." I can contribute to the company's expansion having studied it. My work ethic, long-term objectives, and positive outlook all match the demands of the position, which makes me a dedicated and important asset to the business.
She never ceases to amaze me. That makes sense, all right. We aim to reply to you by the end of this week." She gave a nod and walked out. I never would have imagined that I would go directly to the HR division and request her interview. I am not sure why, but she is really affecting me emotionally. When I arrived home, my beautiful Ammi was waiting at the door with a beautiful smile. "Walaikum salam mera baccha come let us have dinner," she said, kissing my forehead as soon as I said "Assalamualaikum Ammi." I sat down at the dining table and she brought me my favorite dish, "biryani " ."Ammi you know me best I love you so much." I said, "It melted in my mouth and I loved it, putting the world's tastiest dish inside my mouth." As I watched it, my mother was beaming at me and had a lot of love in her eyes. Ask without holding back, "Ammi, what would you like to say?" She was nervous while asking but asked anyway , "What do you think of marriage, Beta?" I abruptly stopped eating and said, "Ammi, you know I want to put my whole focus on my career; this marriage thing can wait." She did not appear to be that depressed to me. "All right, Ammi, I will think about it. Do not let yourself get down.My mother's excitement for my marriage surprised me. I have no problem marrying her if it makes her happier, but why do I keep thinking of her when I consider marriage? I think I am going crazy. She exclaimed, "Beta, I have got someone on my mind," with delight. Would you mind having a meeting with her parents? She is a very kind girl and, more importantly, she is into the deen, which is difficult to find these days, so do not worry.
Assalamualaikum, everyone. I would appreciate hearing your thoughts as it will motivate me to write. By the way, for those who are not Indian, the definitions of some terms are provided here:
Khadoos: a rude, haughty, and indifferent person who does not seem to care about other people.
Son, beta or bachha
I appreciate your time and effort in reading, and I will see you in the next chapter. 💕
