Kanae?..

Sanemi Shinazugawa walks through the town, trying to find the right words to say to Kanae. They were on a night patrol, looking for any demons that might get close to the town while everyone sleeps. He knew he was in love with her, but he didn't know how to tell her. They had worked together on numerous missions, and he had grown to trust and respect her. He had never felt this way about anyone before.

Finally, he finds the perfect moment, and he takes a deep breath before speaking. "Kanae..." He begins, his voice shaking slightly. "I know we've been through a lot together, and I know we've both been through a lot on our own as well. I just... I just wanted to say that I care about you, and I value you as more than just a colleague or a friend. You've become a piece of my life that I can't imagine living without."

Kanae looks at him, surprised but not entirely stunned. She had constantly thought that Sanemi had feelings for her, but she never believed he would express them. "I... I don't know what to say," she eventually whispers, not able to meet his gaze.

Sanemi grabs her hand in his and looks into her eyes with all the sincerity he can muster. "That's okay," he speaks out softly. "You don't have to say anything. I just wanted you to know how I feel. I know it might seem sudden, and I know it might be a bit overwhelming, but I just... I had to say something. I couldn't preserve it any longer."

Kanae examines him for a long moment, not sure what to say. "Sanemi..." she starts up, searching for the words. "I... I care about you, excessively. You're one of the most dedicated and dependable demon slayers I've ever worked with, and I value you not only as a colleague but as a companion. You've assisted me through a lot, and I know that I can trust you with my life, just as I trust you with the lives of the innocent people we protect."

Sanemi breathes a sigh of ease as she speaks, and he knows that he'll never forget this moment. "Thank you," he says softly. "Thank you for being honest with me, and thank you for being a part
