CHAPTER ONE leaving chicago
" HI I'M NORA !"

YOU SAT AT THE END of the staircase in your old building as you watched the movers move your stuff into the moving van.
if you were being very honest you hated the fact that you were moving schools due to a fight you had at the school that you were at.
you rested your head on the palm of your hand as your mother came and sat beside you.
"it's going to be okay." she said softly and you looked over at her, "how? how could this possibly be okay?" you said as you pointed out the moving vans.
"y/n, it's for the best." she said and you just shook your head because she was trying to say shit to make you feel "better" but it wasn't working.
"your dad and i-" you stopped her before she could be finished as you chuckled and turned to her.
"where's dad, mom? he tells you that i have to leave the city and next thing he's up and gone." you shrugged and got up from the staircase as you walked back into the house.
you walked into your room and looked around, it was empty. it was like your parents were trying to get rid of everything about you, "hey!" you heard a voice say from behind you and it pulled you out of your thoughts.
"yeah?" you asked and turned to one of the movers behind you.
"yeah we got all your stuff together in the van, who should i give the bill to?" he asked and you were about to say you.
"yeah, hm you see that lady trying to flirt with one of your employees?" you asked and he looked at her and nodded.
"that's my mom, she'll be the one paying for this." you said with a smirk as you watched him walk over to her.
you grabbed your bag and your phone and walked passed the mover and your mom who was calling your name. you got into the van and drove off.
LATER THAT NIGHT, you made it to your new college in brooklyn as you walked with the dean of the school. "so this the dormitory!" she said but you weren't looking at that, you were looking at the guys getting your stuff. "damn." you whispered to yourself as you watched them throw your stuff around.
"and this is where you'll be staying with your roommate." the dean said causing you to almost break your neck to see who she was talking about.
"hey! i'm nora!" you glimpsed at the girl with curly pink hair as she waved at you. "hi nora, i'm y/n." nora and you shook hands, "well i guess i'll give you time to kick it!" the dean said with a smile.
you and nora awkwardly smiled and nodded your heads, when she finally left. "thank god she left! come in." nora said as that sweet white girl tone left her body.
you followed behind her as she took you to your room, "so this is your room." nora said and you nodded. nora went to go see if they were bringing your stuff in and you looked around your new room.
it had it's own bathroom and it was bigger than your old one, you heard the guys walk into your room so you let them put the stuff down.
after setting up your room, you immediately sat down on your bed and got on your phone.
you looked at instagram took to see that the fight you had was everywhere, all ever people's stories and all ever everybody's posting.
you couldn't believe it to be honest because first of all, the girl and her friends jumped you and still lost, and second she was talking about you.
usually, that isn't the problem but she was talking shit and you couldn't get to her that was the problem.
nora walked into your room, "wanna play uno?" she asked and you smiled and nodded. you two sat on the ground as nora passed out the cards, "oh! one of my friends is coming over." nora said and you nodded.
"noraaaa!!!" you heard a british voice yell and you looked at nora who was looking down with her hand on her face. "in here!" nora yelled and the boy walked into your room as he looked at you.
you weren't going to lie, he was cute and tall but that nigga was very fucking loud. "this is y/n, she's my new roommate." nora introduced and you waved as he sat down on your right, "y/n this is hobie." she said pointing at the boy.
"okay but do you smoke?" hobie asked you, he held up this little bag with weed in it. your smile grew bigger, "oh there she is!!!" hobie yelled and clapped his hands as nora laughed.
after a while you, nora, and hobie were all high and listening to music as you played uno. "hobie! if you make me draw four one more time!" nora yelled as you and hobie laughed as you put your last card down, "uno out!" you yelled as you banged on the ground.
nora high five you, "that's my girl! she beat yo ass!" nora yelled with a smile but hobie looked at her with a confused look.
"why are you so happy? she beat yo ass too!" hobie laughed at nora who looked at him as her smile faded.
"i'm finna-" nora didn't get done with what she was saying before she started hitting him and hobie tried to cover himself with his arms.
you watched them fight as you smiled a bit, maybe this ain't finna be so bad.
