YOU WALKED UP TO MILES'S DOOR, you felt your heart beating out of your chest, you held your fist out to knock on the door but froze. you didn't know why you couldn't do it but you just couldn't so you were about to turn around but the door opened.
"y/n?" miles called and you smiled awkwardly, you turned around to see him holding a trash bag, his locs in a bun, plain white shirt on, and wide leg grey joggers. "oh hi! i was ju- seeing if you had the history notes." you lied.
"we didn't take notes, remember?" miles said, you looked around awkwardly before looking back at him. "well it looks like i should go." you laughed nervously and started walking away but miles called you back.
you turned around, "come on, i can't let you go out in this hurricane...you might melt." he joked causing your jaw to drop before you laughed and walked back.
"whatever, j cole." you said referring to how his hair looked because he hasn't had a retwist or a haircut before walking into the apartment.
"oh you got jokes." miles spoke before closing the door behind you.
"you want some pizza?" miles said as he held out a frozen pizza, you rolled your eyes before walking into the kitchen. "oh hell no!" you shouted as you looked through he fridge, he had a bunch of ingredients but he kept making microwave meals.
"i'm making some soul food." you said and looked at him for approval but instead of approval, he gave you a confused look, "soul food?" you repeated but his look didn't change.
"nigga, you don't know what soul food is?" you spoke and miles grabbed a picture of his mom and dad, "i know you see that im not full black!" he shouted back.
"that doesn't mean shit! your dad didn't show you?!" you asked and he shook his head before placing the picture back. "i miss rio." you spoke softly before you started cutting up the greens.
miles smiled but it was weak, his smile faded after you looked away from him. "i wanna talk to-" he started but you placed your hand out, telling him to stop.
"let's not okay? we're too grown for that." you said before miles sighed, you really just didn't want to hate miles because deep down you just couldn't even though what he did ran you through the dirt.
