Chapter 9: (Come home.)
The rain didn't cease on falling and Beomgyu just got out of Yeonjun's bathroom. A fresh new set of clothes—a pink sweater and shorts—and a small towel wrapped around his flushed neck adorned Beomgyu's features even more. Yeonjun smiled at him and ushered him to sit next to him in bed. Beomgyu did just that and turned his back on Yeonjun. The latter grabbed the towel on his neck and proceeded to dry Beomgyu's hair ever-so-gently. Like he was holding a piece of the star and he should treat it like a child still innocent about the world.
"Are you feeling cold?" Yeonjun asked, his eyes fixated on the strays of hair that tickled his fingers. Beomgyu hummed, "I feel warm for some reason."
"Really?" Yeonjun sounded amused, "We should still drink some medicine to prevent catching a cold. We were pretty soaked."
Beomgyu chuckled and reached over to hold Yeonjun's hand, the latter stopped his movements and looked at Beomgyu's ear, "What's wrong?"
"I know what can stop me from catching a cold," Beomgyu turned around, "I think it'll benefit you, too."
Yeonjun raised a brow, "And that is?"
"A kiss."
For a moment, Yeonjun short-circuited. He could see the glow beneath Beomgyu's eyes and he wondered if it was because of mischief or genuineness. Yeonjun wanted to run his thumb over his eyelids and kiss them, Yeonjun wanted his fingerprints to mark every inch of Beomgyu's skin—burning, gashing, and then kissing them all right.
"Are you... okay?" Yeonjun trailed off, a tinge of red visible on his ears and neck. Beomgyu's gaze drew him over the edge, "What are you looking at?"
It was silent for a while.
The rain. The small room that somehow fit two people perfectly. Yeonjun's discarded books on the desk. His laptop with their photo as the home screen wallpaper. The lights dim and barely shining over Yeonjun's eyelashes. The soft sheets that resembled Yeonjun's heart—easy to crumple, easy to mend. Yeonjun.
Beomgyu beamed, "You have a mole under your ear. It's cute."
Before Yeonjun could even respond, Beomgyu had already leaned over to kiss the mole under Yeonjun's ear. At that moment, Yeonjun realized that he was more than just in love. He was home. Forever home.
