Song for the chapter: Fire On Fire ~
By: Sam Smith

I don't say a word,
But still, you take my breath and
steal the things I know.
There you go, saving me from out of the cold.

Fire on fire,
would normally kill us.
But this much desire,
together, we're winners.
They say that we're out of control,
and some say we're sinners.
But don't let them ruin,
our beautiful rhythms.
'Cause when you unfold me,
and tell me you love me
And look in my eyes.
You are perfection,
my only direction
It's fire on fire.

Travis Wilson raised a brow when Callisto Monet and Raven Aubert entered the venue at the same time.

Together.

The manager looked up and down at Callisto, the sleek black hair, the broad shoulders, the cuffed links, and the Nike shoes. The CEO's son scowled, filled with jealousy, envy, rivalry, hate, or longing - Raven didn't know.

Their past was something she had thought over earlier, not only because Callisto said that he "knew of Travis' ways" but also because the man, in the past, shared the same dislike towards Travis as her's.

The feeling was mutual, she knew. Travis seemed to have a book named '1001 ways to be hated by people', metaphorically. Wherever that shithole of a devil set his foot, he set the ground ablaze in fury.

Not that he had guts. But he had them just enough to make the other person believe he was too high up in the sky.

"Looks like you met before...?" And damn he was clever, if it was for his own concerns. Callisto kept quiet, not even glancing the other man's way.

"Met in the elevator.", Raven said. The lie was hollow, Raven herself wouldn't believe it but then she was never good with Travis. She lied, and didn't feel remorse because her manager deserved it. And she deserved to think, plan, and proceed.

Was she to take this company down?

The long train of thoughts were disturbed by the loud scoff of Travis', who sat just in front of her seat across the white veneered table.

The meeting room was empty, other than a few of Callisto's company's shareholders sitting and whispering from time to time, most probably to think of ways to deal with the problem. Alcove was nowhere to be seen, he never was. The old man's health had deteriorated significantly in the last six months, the cause and his condition were yet to be revealed.

Maybe it was the cool white walls that reflected too much sunlight, or the frigid air from the central air conditioning, or the presence of Travis, the feeling of dread was too hard to handle.
