Song for the chapter: Somewhere Only
We Know ~
By: KeaneAnd if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So, why don't we go somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin)()(())((()))(((())))((((()))))()(())((()))(
"That's fucked up, Raven." Callisto voiced out.
The woman laughed at that, "Yeah, right."
"No, really." He was reviewing the exact moment when the footage of Catherine's house had actually turned into one big deal.
Callisto had seen the entire 48 hour long video tape in supersonic speed but hadn't developed one speck of interest in it, until the eventful 120 minutes came around during dinner time. He felt so uncomfortable, not only because it was, in some way, invasion of privacy but also because the way things unwrapped in front of him on his phone's screen.
And furthermore, when he reached the point where the Schmidt brother stood up hastily, his chair making a loud dragging noise, something that made an echo after Raven's badass comeback. The CEO's face contorted into one of disgust at the obviously hormonal and abnormal boy.
His guts almost ate at him while he saw how cold Raven's staredown at her brother had become. A gnawing feeling ran through his spine and up his arm that was holding the phone on the car's steering wheel. It was dreadful how she could even stand him.
It felt just too wrong. Callisto could, infact, imagine how the artist must've been feeling at that time. Being locked up in one's own body, tight lipped and frostbitten all of a sudden. He hated feeling that. And hated someone else had to feel that, more. Because once you go down that road, nothing comes back, it spirals down into self-doubt and depression and things he didn't want to remind himself.
He related to her in that moment like hell. One where you hate yourself for doing nothing.
As the man was about to rewind and re-watch the entire controversial conversation for the fourth time, Raven said, "Can you stop it, already?"
Her voice was so agitated, strained even. He stopped right there, closing his video player and putting it back in his pocket as he gave her his undivided attention.
He didn't want her to feel as if he wanted to judge her, Callisto never meant harm to her even when he should because this can be his company's turning point. Something which happened because of Raven. Yet he couldn't hurt her. Just because.
