"So are you ready?" Zen questioned

"For?"

"Bitch don't play dumb, Zen already told me you have a date with August"

"Well I mean, you were going to find out either way. & to answer your question Zen, yes I'm ready but I'm also nervous"

"Why?"

"Because, every first date I've had always ended in disaster"

"Damn bitch, how many first dates have you had?" Adrian asked

"3"

"That's my cue to leave" Adrian walked away heading to what I'm assuming was his class

"Don't be nervous Sisi, you guys obviously hit it off this weekend and I'm sure August has something special planned, just give it a chance"

"You're right"

"If you're still nervous, I can always get the information about what he's going to do"

"And how would you do that?"

"Did you forget a little pal named Sean and I can always ask August"

"No thanks, I'd rather be surprised"

"Suit yourself" she said and we closed our lockers and headed to our classes.

Later That Night

"Mama?!" I called out once I got home

"In the living room baby" I went to where she was sitting and gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek

"How was school baby?"

"Pretty good, can't really complain"

"That's good"

"Mama I'm nervous"

"Aww sweetheart don't be, everything is going to go just fine"

"How do you know?"

"I remember when your father took me out on the first date, chile I was so nervous I thought I was going to have a panic attack. I was ranting and raving to your grandmother the whole day about how I thought it would go bad, she had to smack some sense into me. Literally. I got there and even though I was still nervous, I couldn't let him see that. That's the thing baby, you have to fake it and don't let them see you sweat.

He planned it to be really special; candles, flowers, food, music everything. It was one of the best dates of my life and I'll never forget it" she smiled weakly and I knew that it hurt her. Hell it hurt me a bit too, I know how much my parents loved each other and I wish they'd get back together but that's just wishful thinking.

"I'm sorry mama"

"Don't be sorry for me sweetie, things happen" she said and I nodded "Let's go get you ready for this date" she said and we headed up to my room and began getting ready. I showered and did my make-up getting dressed last in a blue dress that I got from when I went out shopping with Zen. I figured I'd put it to good use.

"Are you decent?" Mama called from the other end of the door

"Yeah" I said and she came in the room

"Okay, let's take a look at you"

"My goodness, look at my baby. Honey chile you look like me when I was your age" she waved her hand and smiled
