"Well, who cares if Erica's been fired? She was trying to stir up trouble. Wardrobe designers like her are a dime a dozen in this business anyway. It's not like she was anything special." Jamie scoffed.

"Did you ever know her?" Henry questioned, taken aback at Jamie's words. He laughed, sarcastically before responding, "No. Good thing that I didn't, because she was clearly a bad person." Henry furrowed his brows in frustration, "She wasn't a bad person. She was a normal person in what I've come to learn is a backstabbing industry. People are the worst here in LA."

"Okay, let's all just relax. And I don't think we should bash her behind her back anymore." I implored in an attempt to diffuse the tense atmosphere. "What's done is done. She made a big mistake and now she's facing the consequences. Now let's focus on the movie. We have a hard two weeks ahead of us, so-"

"I'm going to practise alone today if you two don't mind." Henry interjected abruptly, his tone carrying a hint of desolation. "Henry-" I began, hoping to reason with him.
"See you later." he curtly interrupted, leaving us.

"Geez, what has his panties in a bunch? Was he in love with Erica or something?" Jamie questioned with a shocked expression. "No. I don't think that's it. I just think he feels bad about what happened in general. He's a good guy. And tries to see the best in people." I replied, my voice filled with a tinge of empathy.

"Yeah, well, he doesn't seem like a guy fit for this life. If he's getting all mopey about a little blackmail... not sure he can hack the movie star life." Jamie remarked with a hint of annoyance in his voice. "I know you're right. He isn't built for this lifestyle. He wants a simple life." I nodded in agreement.

Jamie sighed wistfully. "That's too bad. Anyway, enough about Henry. I'd like to spend the next couple of hours practicing our kissing scene. I've been dying to get my lips on yours again for ages now. If you think one night was going to satisfy my needs...you're in for a surprise."

"Ah, my two favourite people." Our conversation was interrupted by Donald, who approached with a smile on his face.

"Hey, Donald." We both greeted in sync, feeling relieved by his presence.
"Just wanted to make sure you heard the news about Erica. The situation was dealt with and there is nothing to worry about. As far as I'm concerned...the threat has been eliminated." He continued.

"Good to hear." Jamie responded, snaking his arm around my shoulder. "Yes, Thanks Donald." I chimed in, expressing my gratitude as well. Donald nodded approvingly,
"Now, with that situation out of the way...Barb is looking for you both. She wants to discuss the ending scene."

"Ah yes. And she's worried I'm going to have trouble crying on cue again. She's in for a surprise. No one breaks down in tears like I do." Jamie explained as his eyes lit up with excitement.

I chuckled, admiring his dedication. "Well then, I guess I'll see you later then."

TWO WEEKS LATER...

Impatience gnawed at my nerves as I anxiously scanned the bustling crowd at the airport terminal, eagerly awaiting the arrival of my best friend. Time seemed to drag on, teasing my anticipation. Frustration welled up inside me, mingling with the excitement of our long-awaited reunion.

And then, as if on cue, a familiar voice shattered through the noisy chaos. "Watch out, la! Maria Miller is in the building!" My heart skipped a beat, recognizing the unmistakable tone that belonged only to my best friend.

With a burst of relief, I turned around to find her standing there, a radiant smile illuminating her face. Bursting with joy, I rushed towards her, unable to contain my excitement any longer. "Ahh!!! You're here! It's so good to see you!!!!"

Returning my embrace with that signature warmth, she replied, "You too. I've missed you so much." We exchanged heartfelt greetings, savoring the familiar comfort of each other's presence.

As we navigated out of the chaotic airport, she shared news that sent ripples of exhilaration through our conversation. "I'm so excited that we're meeting them in just a few hours." I couldn't help but mirror her excitement, knowing that the upcoming meeting promised unforgettable experiences and cherished memories.

"Shopping!" we chorused in perfect synchrony, optimism dancing in our eyes. It was a tradition between us, a shared passion that bound us together. Exploring vibrant shops, indulging in retail therapy, and reveling in the latest fashion trends—it was the perfect way to kick-start our reunion after many months.

...

"Maria! How's my favourite waitress doing?" Henry teased, a playful glimmer in his eyes.
"Hey! I resent that!" I playfully shot back, my voice tinged with mock indignation. It was funny the banter shared with Henry.

Taking a moment to appreciate the warm atmosphere of the bar, Maria couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia. "Wow. It's so nice that we are all together again. I miss you guys at sully's!" she confessed, genuine warmth in her voice.

"We missed you too." Henry's response was sincere, and Maria could sense the genuine affection in his words. Although I missed her dearly, I couldn't ignore my newfound pursuit. "I miss you but I don't think I could ever work there again."

"What are you guys up to tonight?" Curiosity getting the best of him, Henry inquired about their plans for the evening.

Maria's face lit up as she shared the thrilling news. "Lilly didn't tell you? We're meeting the infamous Vaughn Rubio for drinks. He listened to some of my music and told me that he loved it!" "He did. He's really looking forward to meeting you." I added to her excitement.

"Aghhh! Henry, you have to come tonight. This is going to be my big break." Unable to contain her excitement, Maria couldn't help but implore Henry to join us.

"I'm not sure." Henry hesitated, his uncertainty evident in his voice. Maria's eyes pleaded with him, hoping to sway his decision. "What do you mean you're not sure? Come on Henry...it's going to be fun?"

Relenting, Henry finally gave in to Maria's infectious enthusiasm "Well alright. If you insist, Maria. I'll meet you guys front of the hotel." A smile forming on his lips.
