Featuring Padriac's Elven father, Thauhndil!

He was asleep when Padriac looked in on him. Sprawled on his back, his father looked the usual Wood Elf in a deep sleep, his pointed ears poking out from beneath his hair. When he grunted, snorting, Padriac quickly stepped back, hiding himself around the edge of the doorway. He waited for a few moments, thinking. He breathed deeply, keeping it quiet so as to not wake his father. Shaking his head slightly, he walked outside, into the rain, and brushed the leaves off himself that instantly floated his eyes, attracted to the Dryad blood flowing in his veins.

Standing before his mother's tree, the very one she no longer occupied, he gazed up at it, feeling worry coursing through him. "Mother... what do I do? Father is stubborn; he believes I am crazy, that everyone else isn't to be trusted. I can see it now; Father isn't the good Elf I once believed him to be. Mother... why did you love him? Why did you bear a son with him... Why-" He was cut off when a sharp breeze rustled the tree. Many leaves fell from it, floating off with the wind and out of sight. Padriac watched them for a few seconds, before something clicked in his mind and he realised. He realised what he had to do. His hear beat frantically in his chest, his hands were even a little sweaty. Wiping them hopelessly on his tunic, he glanced up at the tree again. "Thank you, Mother," he whispered before turning away.

He was quick. His emotions and blood raced through him, heightening his senses and even seeming to make him move faster as he collected up his sword, his bow, arrows and several of his father's hidden blades, stowing them and settling them on his body so he could easily travel. He packed lightly; he would not need much for where he was going. The thought of I'm going to be a knight, I will be a knight rushed through his mind, exciting him and causing him to be breathless. His father would be disappointed, but did he care? He couldn't... Padriac would never be happy if he remained, and, with his weapons safely secure and his pack in hand, he set off for Cair Paravel.

It was unknown. What lay before him was unknown.
