I was listening to mitski today and I was like 'I really wanna write about this' so yah :)
trigger warnings:
-childhood trauma
-loneliness ig??

It was currently 2008 now and Y/n is in an interview with Tom and Bill. The interviewers ask loads of questions about her most recent solo project called 'Nobody.' They show a clip from the music video where Y/n is sitting on a wall while the other children (actors) have X's on their faces.

'Y/n, would you tell us more about the meaning about this song?'

Bill and Tom are patient and happy you are being able to talk about this project as you worked very hard on it.

'If the name doesn't give it away, it's about having nobody in my life, it was like this for a long time when I was a child, especially growing up in such a dodgy area of Germany.' you say to them, leg shaking a tiny bit.

Bill has a very serious face as Tom is making sure everyone in the crowd was being respectful.

'I see, did you have no friends at all then?'

'Well in the first town I lived it, it was quite small, there wasn't many kids around my age for one and if there was they weren't interested in me at all, sometimes it even felt as if they would purposely try to avoid me, this caused me to try and fit in more but it didn't work, kind of convinced me that I was the problem, not them, hence why I wrote this song back in 2006.' you answer, head down now slightly.

'Why do you think the other kids didn't like you?'

'I feel that way because I have always been different, the way I think, the way I dress, the way I react to things. And to some people that can be completely alien to them and when they meet someone like me, who's more outcasted, they panic and say mean things, I get uncomfortable for people who are too afraid to be their complete selves, it's honestly exhausting having to fake everything.'

The interviewer nods and seems very interested in what you have to say. You look over to Bill and Tom who are sat there in silence and make sure it's still okay that you are talking.

'So, Bill and Tom, how did you and Y/n become friends back in school if she was so 'outcasted.'

Bill replies saying 'well to us, we didn't see an outcast, we saw someone who wasn't afraid to be themself, she is kind and was always willing to help us with things, whether it was school, bullying or music, she was always there.'

The audience give an applause and a couple 'aws' come from different sections of the crowd.

'It sounds like you are a great friend Y/n.'

You smile and both Tom and Bill nod their heads in agreement.

'We are now going to show you a snippet of the song, it will be out on CD in two days' the interviewer announces, pointing to the tv next to him.

(pretend it's like your own cover n everything lmao)

Everyone claps and you sit there feeling quite proud, if your younger self saw how much love and support you were getting now from basically complete strangers she would be so proud.

The interview ends, you all say your goodbyes and go backstage.

'Well done Y/n, I'm really proud of you' Bill says, smiling.

'Thank you!'
