Two weeks. It's been two weeks since Aarav spoke to Ameera. Two weeks since he continued to avoid her, to be specific. It was mentally and physically hard for him, on his part.

A: hey, wanna get lunch together? I have something academic-wise to ask you about.

He sat in his chair staring down at his phone for a long minute, contemplating if he should really go. But it isn't personal, right? What could go wrong? With that thought in his head, he trod down the stairs of his building and into his dark sleek vehicle.

The location she sent to him was a quint little cafe, a floral decoration donning the outside and bright pastels as he stepped in. His eyes didn't take long to find her, the blond box braids she had adorned were something that made her stand out. Alongside the fact that the room itself paled in comparison to her, despite its popping bright colours.

The first 3 seconds after he sat was the slightest awkward until she spoke.

"So, Mr Smith, how have you been?"

Missing you but pretending I don't, was the reply that came to his head first. But he refrained from saying so. "I've been alright, busy with work and Rahdika. How about you? Is everything good? You haven't spoken to me in a while."

Ameera leaned back into her chair, maroon eyes scanning over the menu. "Nothing much, to be honest. I actually called you here to assist me with something to do with school."

His face dropped, knowing he shouldn't, but wishing it was something more personal. Throwing on a better expression, and hoped that she didn't see the way his face dropped. "Oh, sure thing. What can I help you with?"

But Ameera was perceptive, she didn't miss a thing.  The way his face fell gave her an ego boost. Realizing what she was doing wasn't working fast enough for her, she decided to take another route.

Ignore him and make him want it. Make him beg for it. She never had this issue with any of her previous conquests, they were the ones who came onto her first, they were the ones who made the effort. But then again, she had never been with a pastor before, let alone someone in a marriage.

Feigning concern, she asked him. "Why that look, Aarav, missed me?"

"I—" he paused, wondering if he should be honest or not. "Let's go back to what you were saying, what did you need help with?"

She internally sighed, of course, he was deflecting. Nothing unusual. "Well, I'm actually pursuing a degree in what you do, architecture. I'm wondering if I could be your shadow for a few weeks for the project that I'm doing. I think it would help a lot, seeing what's actually done and what I'll be doing when I graduate."

"I have no problem with that, just let me know when and I'll make time. Heads up though, a lot of 'old' people work there. " he joked with mirth, the smile lines around his eyes popping up.

And those dimples, goodness, she could get enough of them.

Ameera leaned forward after taking a sip of her almost-finished drink, making eye contact with the fine specimen in front of her before replying. "If they're your age I wouldn't say old, it's just right."

"O-oh really? I guess you'll be fine then, no need for me to worry."

"No need at all." She paused to dap her lips with a napkin and stood up. "Well, that's it for me. Thank you for meeting up and I'll let you know when I need you. Bye."

Aarav watched as she left, considering if he should say something to continue the conversation or just send her a text later. He opted for the latter.  Sighing, he went up to the counter to pay for both their drinks. The thought had been swirling around in his mind for a few weeks but he was ignoring it up until now. Thinking that he should come to terms with the losing battle that he's been fighting. Obviously, he knew what he was doing was wrong, but he couldn't stop the thoughts he had about her. About them.

How it would feel if he just gave in.

He shook his head, clearing his mind of those thoughts as he glanced at the picture of his wife, his daughter and him on the dash of his car. I can't, not even if she doesn't treat me the best.

"Saki, honestly, tell me what you think of all this?"

It was days after her chat with the man of the hour and the two girls were on the bed in Saki's house with the dialogue of 'Mean Girls' running as background noise on her television, not that they didn't always know it word for word. Both munching on grapes that she had stolen from her mother. Saki stopped to turn and look at her.

"Well, obviously it's wrong messing with someone who's married, I'll say that. But you both are adults so I can't tell you what to do, just stay safe, okay?"

Ameera leaned over to plop a kiss on her cheek, from which she blushed. "I know, thank you."

"Plus I like hearing your little stories, so I won't be the one to tell you to stop," Saki giggled as she hid from a grape that her best friend threw at her.

With a roll of her eyes, Ameera went to take another dip into the bag of grapes. "Of course you would, virgin."

"And it will stay that way until I find the right girl, you harlot."

Ameera laughed along at their silly banter, knowing they'd never say anything to hurt each other and both were telling the truth. Plus harlot had a little dignified ring to it, she admitted. Moreover, she made it known to anyone who had something to say that she was not ashamed of her promiscuity, her sleeping around didn't mean she slept with everyone. The standards were still very high, so only the specific people she deemed worthy had access to her body. Even then, it was almost always a one-time thing. That's what made her a bit skittish about Aarav despite her enthusiastic approach.

She didn't want it to be just once.

Saki's question snapped her back from her thoughts and to reality. "So, how far have y'all gone? Tell me, oh my god!"
Her petite body crept closer with excitement as she tucked a strand of her silky straight behind her hair, which was now in a pattern of black and white stripes.

"Since you're being so patient, I will." Her voice was drowned in sarcasm but she continued nonetheless. Ameera started listing out what happened between them on her fingers.
"We've kissed, of course. Dry humped him
in his pool, sucked him off in the church. Yup, that's it so far."

And Ameera could almost burst with laughter at the bewildered expression on the girl's face.

"You're going to hell, like, most definitely." Even saying that she giggled and crept even closer, "Is it big?"

Their eyes made four as Ameera suspensefully responded, "It is."

Which led to both of them squealing in bed, covering their mouths like they were still in high school talking about crushes. The moment was interrupted by the ping of Ameera's phone and the both of them peered over to glance at it.

A: Good afternoon Ameera, about the visit, I'll be free next week Wednesday, are you available then?

"Speak of the devil?" Saki grinned. Anyone would've sworn that we was the one in the situation instead, with all that eagerness.

a: hey, yeah im free then, just send me the address & time and ill be there
A: Great, can't wait :)

"Girl, he wants you so bad. It's literally a date."

Ameera merely tilted her head and replied with a knowing look of her own. "One, it's not a date, it's educational. And two, I mean it's me, everyone does. Seriously though, he's been distant since the last time, because of guilt I'm assuming. So I've decided to make him speak to me to instead."

Saki stared at her counterpart with mirth. "Just make sure you keep me updated."

"I will, who else am I going to tell?"
Both girls chcukeld at the rhetorical question and continued to gossip about some random things, as they usually did.

Though in the back of her mind, Ameera couldn't stop thinking of how the coming week would go.
