Afraid To Love

Chapter 5

Jessie had been on the road with Sam for a week. She was having a great time. She'd even made a few new friends. She and Sam were at an arena backstage.

"Gotta go put my paint on Jess." Sam said. They kissed.

"I'm gonna go back to your locker room."

"Alright." "See you in a few minutes."

Sam went into the bathroom and started doing his paint. Steve Borden (Sting) was standing next to him doing his paint.

"Hey." Steve said.

"Hey."

"How's Jessie?"

"Good."

"It's good to see you so happy."

"I am." As soon as he said that Steve noticed the look on his face.

"What?"

"I'm crazy about her, but I think she's keeping something from me."

"Like another guy?"

"No, nothing like that." "Something that she's keeping me at arms length about." "I just wish she trusted me enough to tell me." "I don't want to push her."

After the show Jessie and Sam went out to dinner. After dinner they went back to Sam's room.  They were laying on the couch watching a movie. He was holding her. Jessie yawned

"I'd better go before I fall asleep." She said.

"You can stay." "I won't try anything, I promise."

"I would but I have medication I have to take." "It's really important."

They got up. Sam walked her to the door.

"See you tomorrow." He said.

"Goodnight." They kissed.

Jessie went back to her room and into the bathroom. After she took her first two pills, she started crying.

"Can't I just wake up tomorrow and be normal?" She thought. "I want to be with Sam, I want to stay with Sam."
