Chapter - 1: Your Reputation Precedes You

At Saraswati Vidya Mandir (Roohi and Abhir's College):

Roohi had quite a reputation in her college. She was the go to girl for any stage performance. The school believed that she was born to rock the stage and every event had her as their star performer. Roohi enjoyed that attention and reputation. 

Abhir was more of a nerd who excelled in sports. He was selected into the college team for almost 6 different sports during the trials but Abhir had to make a choice and he chose cricket and basketball. He couldn't toil a lot and take risks because of his medical history and he was made aware of that quite clearly by his family. 

He was an introvert who had minimum interaction with people other than his team mates and lecturers but had maximum attention from one and all. He was a mystery to most of them and Abhir never realized that he had such a reputation. Birla kids were known for their merits and also for their contrasting personalities as people often wondered how the siblings don't share a single trait.

Roohi was appointed as the President for the Cultural Committee almost unanimously which didn't sit well with people who voted for her out of obligation. Obligation towards college policy of not letting personal bias come in the way of decisions taken by management. That was the best part about the College and the reason why Abhimanyu chose this for his children. 

He hated any sort of differentiation amongst kids based on whatever criteria in the college. The world is brutal but the Junior College need not be the same. Bottom line being, Roohi made some potential enemies. She was too excited to gauge this impending threat and unhappy glances as she took the mike to address her college.

Roohi: Hello everyone! First of all thank you for choosing me as your Prezz for this year and this is the best gift I could ever get here. But I am making a promise to all my lecturers who recommended me, to all my friends and mates who stood by me and the management who approved of me, that i will give a better and bigger return gift. I will work hard to make sure Saraswati Vidya Mandir's reputation reaches it's highest potential in the cultural front with all your support. I will always be reachable and approachable for any query and will be the most hard working President ever. Let's do this for SVM!

Audience: Let's do this for SVM!

Roohi: That's it from me guys! I hope you all have a great day just like me! Thank You!

The audience and staff clapped and cheered for her as she delivered her induction speech. The bell rang and everyone dispersed to their classes. Roohi met with the committee in charge and understood her responsibilities in detail and rushed back to her class immediately.

Abhir rushed to congratulate Roohi during the recess and was taken aback seeing her surrounded by so many people congratulating her and asking her various things. He felt proud of his sister and patiently waited for her to notice him. Roohi signed him to wait at their usual place and that she will need 5 minutes. Abhir just gave her a tight hug as soon as he got to meet his star sister.

Abhir: Wow Di! I am so happy for you. Waise koi compete karnewala tha bhi nahi aapse. Aaj toh celebration banti hai boss.

Roohi: Thanks Birla Boy! Tu bata how are you coping up with your mystery boy reputation? Tujhe pata hai kitne log tere bare main mujhse poochte hai? Tu itna chup kyun rehta hai?

Abhir: Aisa nahi hai yaar Di! Main jaan puchke chup nahi rehta. Jo bhi interesting lagti hai, jahan bhi, main bolta hoon. Pata nahi logon ko aur kya chahiye. Thode din aur sununga na ki yeh bolta kyun nahi hai...main toh irritate hoke bol bhi dunga ki main selectively goonga hoon. Mera picha chod do.
