Just This Once

Names

"Sakura."

"What?"

"No."

"Oh, come on! Why not?"

"We're not naming the baby, Negi " 

"It's cute!"

"It sounds like a dog's name."

"No, it is not!"

Sasuke sighed. They've been thinking about names for the baby before it arrives but they can't seem to agree on anything.

"Sakura, you're naming our child after an onion."

"Why not? I mean both our names are after something as well."

"Yes, mine means "ninja" and yours "cherry blossom" so how come are child is "onion"?

"Hmmm. Yeah, it would be quite dull, huh?"

"You think?"

"Oh! What about -"

"How about we name the baby with "Sa" at the start of her name since we both have "Sa" on ours?"

Sakura blinked at that. Never did she think her husband would have this side of him. 

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Sakura made a small "Pfft" sound when she didn't suppress her giggle. This is just too cute, she thought.

"Wouldn't it be too cringe-y though? 

"Is it?"

"Coming from you, yes."

"Tsk. Stop teasing."

"Hahaha you're too cute, Sasuke-kun!"

"But you do have a point. It would be nice to have her name start with "Sa" like ours."

She smiled at her husband whose eyes were glued to her bump but her smile slightly faded when she saw his eyes from looking happy to troubled.

"What's wrong, Sasuke-kun?"

"..." No response.

"Sasuke-kun?"

When Sasuke finally snapped back to reality,

"hm?"

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"You expect me to believe that?"

"Yes because everything is fine, Tsuma*. I promise."

"You've thought of a name, didn't you."

"Yeah, but I don't want to say it just yet. I might jinx it."

"Let me hear it."

"No. You know what, I'm sure when the baby finally arrives, we can figure out a name right away."

"So we'll be those parents, huh?"

"Hn. Annoying woman."

Sakura giggled and kissed his cheek.

"We'll do fine." she smiled

Sasuke looked directly into his wife's eyes and he felt sure. At peace. He smiled back.

"Ah. We'll do fine."
