Sasuke stared at the door where Sakura exited a while ago. He didn't know she felt that way... like always. He doesn't know to open up his feelings to anybody and he knows it's not an excuse. He always ends up bottling his feelings or just keep quiet. There were times where Sakura would just stay silent on their couch, and sometimes, she would just burst into tears and question his love for her. He knows he has to do it sooner or later. He owes it all to her after all.
"What now, Sasuke?" asked Naruto who interrupted his thoughts. He sighed and run his fingers through his hair.
"I'll handle it, Naruto. Please stay out of it."
"Teme, I know it's not my place, but Sakura-chan has done everything for you. At least repay her just that." Naruto got up and put a hand on Sasuke's shoulder, and left.
"That dobe... I know that." He sighed.
"Well, I didn't know you're also a jerk to your lady, Sasuke." Suigetsu smirked.
"You and be, both. He sighed and got up.
"Come on man, I'm just fooling around. Where you going?"
"Home."
On his way home, Sasuke left the restaurant deep in thought. He doesn't like public affections at all. Although, there were times where he wants to hold Sakura's hand for no reason, or when men keep staring at her even though they know they they're married. There was one time where they were walking together and a group of chunin stared at her as they walked passed the, their eyes glued to her, unaware that Sasuke is just behind her. He would glare daggers at them and they would flinch or shiver at his gaze and run away. He loves his wife. More than he could admit. He loves his wife so much that he can't afford to lose her. Not again. They say it's cliché to say "I can't live my life without you" but it's kind of true. He came back for her, after all. She is home. She completes him. She loved him when he didn't even love himself. She loved him despite all the hatred, despite all the pain. He pushed her away before, he almost lost her when they both snapped and got physical, and he won't let that happen again. No, not anymore. And he could just at least give her that.
He gave another sigh and head on home. He will have a very serious talk with his wife.
When he arrived, Sakura is in the kitchen cooking their dinner. Her back with the Uchiha logo printed on her shirt, adoring his sight. She looks so perfect with that logo. And he'll do anything and everything to keep it there. He stared at it some more quietly when he announced he was home.
"Tadaima."
He can sense her excitement when he whirled towards him, her eyes twinkled in excitement.
"Ara! Sasuke-kun okairi! Are you hungry? I made dinner." She smiled at him and went back to cooking. She yelped when Sasuke suddenly hugged her from behind. Her wide eyes then softened. She put a hand on his head as he buried his face in her hair and neck.
"Is something wrong, Sasuke-kun?"
"..." no answer. She sighed. She won't get an answer from him any time soon so she put down her hand from his head and removed his arms around her, gently pushing him away. This gesture made Sasuke surprised.
"Umm.. I need to finish cooking. Can you set up the table for me?"
She felt a little disheartened when she didn't get a reply but she doesn't want to make things awkward between them and to make him think that she's upset so she asked him to set the table. Sasuke knew got upset but doesn't want to push it and decided they would talk later after dinner and so he replied her with a simple "Ok."
They both ate in silence. Sakura had her head down the entire time and Sasuke kept stealing glances at her. She wasn't picking on her food and he feels at ease at that. That means she isn't too upset. When they're both done, he offered to wash the plates. While he's finishing up, he felt her petite arms wrapped around him, her face buried on his back.
"What's wrong Sasuke-kun? Please tell me?" she begged and he can picture her face frowning and eyes almost crying. He forcefully removed her arms around him. Sakura felt like her heart dropped. He's pushing her away again but her thoughts were cut off when he turned to her and hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry." He started.
"For what?"
"For doing less than what you do."
"What?" she's confused. What's this about? He pulled away and pressed his foreheads to hers, eyes tightly shut.
"You've done everything for me. You loved me even though I was very difficult to love. And I love you for that. Because you didn't give up on me when everybody else did. And for you, I can do anything, I will do anything and everything. Even if it means going outside my comfort zone and be affectionate in public."
Sakura's eyes widened in surprise hearing that last.
"How-"
"You're really annoying. How can you not feel my chakra? I was just literally a table from you and Ino."
Sakura laughed nervously and scratched her head.
"Umm I didn't mean that."
"You're a bad liar."
Sakura just smiled and hugged him once more. Sasuke pulled her closer and buried his nose in her hair.
"Sasuke-kun... You don't have to do that just because I want to. I know how hard it is for you, so I'm really ok with that."
"For you, I can." and with that, he sealed it with a kiss.
The next day, while Sakura is walking, three plastic bags in hand, a hand suddenly grabbed 2 of the bags and the other held her hand. She looked up and saw her husband facing forward, his cheeks red as his favorite fruit. She giggled as they walk towards home.
