CHAPTER 3

"Is is true, hija?" His mother ask me. Nakaupo na din. Magkatabi kami ni Yuan ngayon at ang kamay niya ay nasa bewang ko. His fingers write a letters on my waist trying to make a conversation with me through that.

"Yes, ma'am." I answered. Hindi ko na din alam kung ano pang pumasok sa kokote ko bakit um-oo ako. May be because he helped me last time? And this would be my pay back time.

Madame raised her eyebrows in me. Halata na hindi siya naniniwala. "Tell me hija, did he threaten you? Or...pay you?" I gritted my teeth on her last words. I tried my best to compose my self. Ayokong maging bastos.

"Ma! That's too-" I squeezed Yuan's hand before I speak.

"Yuan didn't threaten nor pay me,ma'am. I am sorry for not telling you these immediately but I am the one to blame. I told Yuan to make our relationship secret because I am not yet ready. And as a matter of fact, six months na po kaming magka-relasyon." Paliwanag ko. Dumaan ang gulat sa mata ng ginang at mas humigpit ang hawak ni Yuan sa bewang ko.

I need to tell her that because my ego couldn't take that she's accusing me na nagbinayaran ako ng anak niya na magsinungaling.

"Again, ma'am, I am very sorry. And for your information ma'am... I am not after his money. Sapat po ang kinikita ko to support my needs." Mariing dagdag ko.

She smiled apologetically. "I am sorry, hija. Akala ko nagsisinungaling ang anak ko. I am not judging you if that's what you think. Ang akala ko lang ay nagbayad ang anak ko para magsinungaling na girlfriend niya to avoid the wedding thing."

Tiningnan ko si Yuan bago bumalik ang tingin sa nanay nito. "I understand, ma'am." Sagot ko.

"A-and... I am about to talk that thing on Rev ma. Dumating ka lang." singit ni Yuan. His mother narrow her eyes again on his son saka bumaling saakin.

"Okay then. I think you really need to talk. I gotta go. And Reverie? Am I right?"

"Natasia Reverie Pascual, ma'am." Pakilala ko at naglahad ng kamay. Agad naman inabot ng ginang iyon.

"Aurora Davis, I'm Yuan's mom" she smiled. "I am hoping to see you in my house so that, I will please his father to stop the engagement."

Tumango ako. "Yes, ma'am. We will just going to talk about it po."

"Okay then, I gotta go. Yuan, take care of your girlfriend." His mom eyeing him before the woman went out. Agad kong pinanlisikan ng mata si Yuan at tinulak.

"What was that all about huh? Girlfriend huh?" Inis na singhal ko. I tried my voice to make this as a whisper dahil baka may makarinig na nagpapanggap nga lang kami. I know that, there must be reason for that.

"I'm sorry. I got panicked. I know my mom and dad. They are really pushing me through the wedding thing at ayoko n'on." Paliwanag niya. Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay.

"You can just say no Yuan. I know, I promised that I will pay you back but this is too much! Sa parents mo ako pinakilala na girlfriend mo." Parang ngayon lang din nag-sink in sa akin ang lahat. This is really a big mess.

"I know. But I can't just say no especially to mom. Nakakatakot magalit iyon." Problemadong sagot niya. "Kaya nga nagulat ako na... you tell her that way. Kung ako iyon,panigurado nagka-utal na ako." Dagdag pa niya.

"I just wanted to defend myself from your mother's accusation, Yuan. And I tell her those lies to defend my ass."

"I know and I owe you for that. I also sorry for bringing you to this mess." I sigh. Na-stress ako bigla. Gusto ko lang naman mag-freshen up by drinking my favorite coffee but turn out to be a mess.
