Back in the world of the living, the students of Prometheus High had their classes cancelled for the day. Instead, they would be taken to the Market where Career Day would take place. Different stands were spread across the area, behind them all kinds of people were inviting students over and talking about all kinds of jobs.
There were winemakers, farmers, blacksmiths, potters, inventors, scholars and even teachers. All would look impressive to most but not to Myrrhine.
Mostly, because she was a woman and that meant that choices of a job were greatly reduced in that era. On top of that, she doubted she could ever get a proper job with having to work for Hades.
So, she just followed her group of 'friends' around as they explored everything.
She was standing next to Cassandra, looking over the scroll with the people present and the many different jobs. Hercules was close by and Icarus had disappeared for a moment to approach the Actor's booth.
Picking up a tragedy mask, he placed it over his face and approached them. "Hey, I have found my career," he said, trying new skills.
Myrrhine could not help but shiver in response. "Clown?" she asked without much of a thought, making Icarus glance down for a moment as Cassandra was amused
However, the boy quickly picked up his courage again. "No, Thespian!" he said before he took off his mask and turned to his crush. "What do you think, Cassandra?"
The seer took off her mask that she was trying on, looking unimpressed. "You would have to come out of your shell"
Hercules, who had wandered off for a moment, quickly approached them with his silly goofy smile. "I don't need career day. I know what my career is going to be" he said with pride, puffing his chest.
No more explanation was needed as they all moved to observe Phil. He was giving a dramatic representation of battles and achievements of a hero, earning quite a crowd with his narration and fancy words.
Our heroes were watching as well, some with amusement and others with simple boredom. At least, they did not have any school and that was a big plush in their eyes.
Suddenly, Hercules looked away from the crowd and noticed one standing by the corner that had no crowd. He narrowed his eyes faintly as he read what the job occupation was written on top of it.
"What is a Doctor?" he questioned, a little out loud.
This new word caught the attention of a bored Myrrhine. She looked at him before she decided to follow his gaze, her eyes, landing on a unique stand. A handsome man in his late 20s to early 30s was sitting, clearly disappointed and sad that he had managed to attract no one; since everyone was interested in a more familiar or well-paid career.
The rest of the group also turned to see with curiosity, equally surprised by the new career that none had heard of.
"Well, a doctor is....someone...who sits by himself at a booth...because apparently....it would seem that..."Icarus tried to explain but struggled, clearly having no idea as well. In the end, he gave up. "I don't know!" he said most dramatically, making Myrrhine reconsider his idea to become an actor shortly.
"Nice try" Cassandra mocked into his ear.
Myrrhine lifted an eyebrow, trying to test that word in her mind. She could not exactly pinpoint what career it was supposed to be although the huge saw and forceps hanging behind the man, were quite f concerning and perhaps a little off-putting.
Hercules, of course, being the curious demigod he was; wasted no time to walk towards the lonely man. Rolling her eyes, she followed right after him.
"So, uh...how is business?" Hercules asked in all his clumsiness and lack of talent to start a conversation, making the witch facepalm as she came to a halt by his side.
