While Will was enjoying his ice cream, the party, Robin and Steve, were spying from the counter. The line had died down so it gave them time to spy.

"You sure that's the kid that hates you all?" Steve asked.

"Yes!" Dustin said. "He yelled at Mike that he didn't care about us. He didn't even care about Jane."

"I'll go talk to him. I'll ask what he wants." Robin said, confidently. She walked up to him and spoke. "Hey!" She said. "Hi." Will replied, quietly. "Do you know any kids by the name Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Max and Jane?" She questioned. Wills rested expression changed to a shocked one. "Uhm, yea."

Robin looked at him in confusion. "How could he be the one that hates the party?" She thought. "Uhh, never mind. You just looked familiar." She awkwardly laughed before moving away and behind the counter.

The party looked at her in confusion. "What's wrong?" Max asked.

"There is no way he's an asshole." Robin said. "Did you do anything to him to make him hate you guys?"

"No!" Mike replied.

A few minutes past and Will got up and left. The party and Robin followed him while Steve took over at scoops ahoy. He walked into some shops and occasionally came out with some bags. Eventually, he walked outside.

"I think I should head home too. Hopper and I are supposed to go to their house early." El said. "Good luck." Mike replied. "You'll need it."

Will walked home like usual. The way home was peaceful. It wasn't often like this. He walked inside and saw Joyce in front of the stove cooking dinner. "Where were you?" She asked. "At a mall." He replied and walked to his room. He put the bag down on the floor and sat on his bed. He couldn't stop thinking about today. He felt guilty still. He thought that it would go away but it never did. "Will, dinners done!" Joyce yelled from the kitchen. Will walked to the kitchen to see Jim and el sitting down. He sat down with them. They began talking but Will wanted nothing of it. He didn't care about them. They'd probably move in like a month or whatever so he didn't care.

He looked over and saw Joyce and Jim talking. They gave this look to each other. It was weird. It didn't matter though. Will walked to his room after dinner. He lied down on his bed and waited until Jane and hopper left. He eventually fell asleep.

The next morning came. The party pretty much arrived to school at the same time. "How was your dinner with Will?" Max asked. "Great! His family was really nice. Will didn't talk but just stared at us." Jane said. They walked to class together.

They walked into the classroom and were disappointed when they saw Will. Unfortunately there was only seats next to him. They continued with class.

Mike looked over and saw something was on Wills mind. He looked ridden with guilt and fidgety.

They walked out to lunch, sitting at an empty table. Of course they spotted Will alone again. "I heard his mum and hopper talking... it was something to do with how he acted." Jane said. "What is it?" Lucas said. "It's something about his father and something else but Will came out of nowhere and asked what I was doing. So I left." She said. "Wait! I have an idea!" Lucas said. "Jane, you can look at people's pasts, right?" Jane nodded. "Then we can do it after school!" He said. They all nodded.

After school came quickly and they rushed to hoppers cabin. They ran inside and into els room. Jim saw how excited they were so he walked to els room. He saw el put a blindfold on. "You kids better not be spying on that kid Will." Hopper said. "Why." Mike spoke. "Because the kid needs his privacy."

"But he's a total di-" Dustin said but got cut off by hopper.
"The kid struggles enough." He walked outside of her room. "What does he mean "he acts that way for a reason"." Mike said. They ignored what he said and spied on his past.

El appeared in the void. It was silent until she heard sudden giggles. She looked back and saw what looked like younger Will and a boy. The boy had darker hair and light blue eyes. Wills smile made her smile a bit. They talked and giggled at each others jokes. It looked like they were on a cafeteria table. "So-" Will said before he was interrupted. A kid walked up and laughed before standing in front of them and the cafeteria. "So, some of you might know about Will Byers. If you don't, then here he is." The kid said before two other kids (that el assumed were friends with the kid talking in front of everyone) pulled Will in front of the kid. Everyone stared and el could see in Wills expression that he was nervous.

Before el could continue, she felt the blindfold be snatched off. "What is it?" She asked. "Hopper!" Mike said. El wiped her bloody nose as hopper opened the door. He gave them a suspicious smile before speaking. "Tomorrow for dinner you all are going to Wills. All your parents agreed to have dinner to get to know each other." He said. They all sighed as he left. "It's okay. Wills usually quiet and his family is super nice!" El said. They all had biked over to Mikes to have a sleepover.
