Chapter 7|| Finale

"Some of you might know the new kid, Will Byers." Troy said. "If you don't know him, here he is!" His two other friends pulled Will away from the group. The party stood up confused as Will tired to fight them off.

"He's very introverted, so I feel like we should learn a bit more about him." He reached into his bag and grabbed out a book. But not just any book. It was his journal. Will tried his hardest to fight back but Troy announced that "I've already read it Will. Even if you did get this journal back I'd still know."

Will stayed quiet as the party got up to help Will. Unfortunately, a bunch of kids blocked them and pushed them away.

"So, we're gonna start with the major daddy issues this kid has. But I completely get his dad, I mean he is a f#g. Yea, Wills gay." He announced. Everyone gasped in response with people chuckling. Tears formed in his eyes as Troy continued. "And just to say, he has a massive crush on Mike wheeler! He's honestly obsessed with him." "There's pages of pages of him just rambling about his love for Mike." He mocked. "You can also tell that no one likes Will. Even at his past schools not a single kid likes him." "You are pathetic Will. No wonder everyone hates you. You're a pathetic, unlovable, f#g." He rips page by page out of Wills book and throws them on the floor. "If you want more details, here they are!" He laughed. Will panicked and sobbed as all the kids stared at him. "Poor crybaby." Troy mocked.

Everyone laughed and pointed while Will sobbed. Eventually, the party pushed through the crowd.
"Will, are you okay?" Mike said. Will only looked at him before running off crying.

The party stood there, trying to comprehend what just happened. "We need to go find Will." Max said. They all ran out of the cafeteria and went separate ways. As they searched through the hallways, they didn't find him. Mike walked out of the back door of the school. He heard soft sobs and turned to see Will. "Hey!" He ran over to Will and knelt down next to him. Will slowly looked up with teary and red, puffy eyes. "Go." He mumbled while burying his head into his knees.

"Let's ditch."
"Huh?"
"Let's get out of here."
"What, why?"
"Because, this school sucks and I just want to spend time with you and not have to constantly worry about everyone."
"Yea, ok."

Will sat in the cafeteria alone. Suddenly, a guy walked up to him. "Can I sit here?" He asked. Will looked up to see a guy with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes look down at him. "Sure." He said. "My name is Chris." He smiled. "I'm Will." He managed to smile. He was a shy kid but felt more safe with him. After that, they hit it off. They hung out all the time. They walked through the hallways together talking. As they walked into the cafeteria everyone became silent. Suddenly, a burst of laughter came. "What's happening?" Chris said. "Chris, guess what? Will has a massive crush on you!" A kid laughed. Chris looked at Will with disgust. "Will, is this true?" He said. "I—uhm— I don't—" Will could only stutter. "I'm sorry but we should stop hanging out." Chris walked away with a group. Will looked at the kids pointing and laughing at him. He ran out crying. They found out. Chris and Will stopped talking and Will attempted to get expelled so he would get to leave. He was successful but it kept repeating. People finding out and telling everyone.

Will drunk the remaining slushy in his cup. "I know it feels like it's the end of the world but it's not. It's okay, Will." He said. Usually he didn't care that much when people found out because he'd just try to leave the school but now that he finally found a friend group it hurt the most. Will placed the cup beside him before looking down. "Why do you keep talking to me?" Will mumbled. "Because you're like one of the coolest kids in this town."

Will looked at him and smiled softly. "Wanna go to mine?" Mike said. Will nodded in response and they walked to Mikes. They sat in Mike basement, watching a movie.
"So he isn't gonna talk about how I feel about him?" Will thought.

By the time the movie finished, Will and Mike were cuddled together. "I love you, Will." He said. He brushed his hand over Wills cheek before leaning in to fill the gap between them. After a second he pulled away. "Was that weird?" He asked. "No." Will softly smiled. They kissed again but with more passion.

This month has been great. Hopper and Jane moved in, my brother go accepted to his dream college, I've officially joined "the party" and Mike and I started dating. But there's one thing that still confuses me. They mess up Jane's name like all the time and call her el? Why do they call her el?
