Chapter 17

"Where's the whipped cream?" Josh asked looking through the fridge the next day. "I can't eat pancakes without whipped cream!"

Yeji and I shared a look, which Josh caught, then pointed at us as if he had been betrayed:

"NO, NO, NO! You didn't! Oh my God!" His voice was high-pitched and his face had turned red, and Yeji nearly choked on her waffles with laughter. "This isn't over!" he yelled as he stormed out of the kitchen.

"I feel bad now." I said and Yeji rolled her eyes as I finished my cereal.

"He shouldn't be the one complaining."

"What do you mean?" But she didn't answer.

"Come on, I'll take you to your dorm, I have to see Niki anyway."

"Oh. Okay."

After finishing breakfast, I grabbed my backpack and said goodbye to everyone (Josh didn't respond), before Yeji and I got in her car and started up.

It was snowing lightly, which I loved. We were almost to my dorm, when I saw something white and fluffy in the middle of the street and ordered Yeji to stop the car.

"What the fuck?"

I didn't answer, I just got out of the car and knelt down next to the kitten. It had eyes just like Yeji's and fluffy white fur.

"Fuck no. Nuh-uh." Yeji said as I approached the car.

"Please! I'll keep it in my dorm! If you don't want to take me, then it's fine, I'll get there with my foot."

She sighed and I smiled, climbing into the car. I put it in the backpack, making sure to keep it slightly open so it wouldn't choke.

"Thanks for the ride. See ya." I said but she closed the door.

"I'm telling you, don't keep the cat. It's going to cause you trouble and you'll get kicked out of your dorm."

"I'll keep him."

"Fine. But don't come crying to me when you lose your kitty and your place to stay."

"Don't get your hopes up. So thanks again."

"Bye, Ryu." I smiled and got out of the car.

"What did you bring here?" Chaer asked as soon as I entered the bedroom.

"It's okay, knowing that everything is starting to get creepy. And I bought us a kitten!" I said as I pulled the cat out.

"Oh my God."

"Listen to me-"

"Oh my God."

"Please-"

"What should we call her? Oh my God it's so cuteee!"

"Seriously?"

"Yes! But if we get caught, you take the blame."

"Agreed!"

"So, what should we call her?"

"Um... Light fury."

"Light fury. I like that." I smiled.

"Me too."

After a pause, she spoke again.

"Now changing the subject. how many times did you do it with Yeji last night?"

The next two weeks passed quickly and so did the exams. It was Friday morning; We were in the last class of the semester and everyone was looking forward to the fraternity party that was to take place later that night, to celebrate the end of exams and the beginning of the Christmas season.
