The Staff of Magius shone down on to the ground of the courtyard, illuminating the centre of the ground, the centre is where Raistlin now stood preparing cast a spell that would propel him back in time. Soon, it came time to cast the spell, as Raistlin stood up from the ground where he had carefully laid out white sand in the shape of an old run mages used long ago. He started the spell by saying,"Astrah-ukuradon" causing the sand to rise up and light to fill his eyes. He then followed with,"Ozar-kathalu-karu" and slowly a portal opened up in front of him. This portal would send him back in time and allow him to re-take the Test, this portal was also only in admittance to him from the way that he had cast the spell. He entered the portal, as he stepped in he thought over his plan and how it would end.

He arrived in Wayreth moments later, stepping out out of the portal as it closed behind him. The portal had teleported him to the outside of the Tower right where he would be meeting Par-Salian, a mage from the Conclave of Wizards. He met him at the entrance to the great building, where he would led into the courtyard, where he would take the test so many others had failed before him. This would be the last time he would ever attend to an event as horrid as this. He started off with common spells to defeat the foes thrown at him, as Raistlin proceeded he used stronger casts that would give him more power. As he went farther he felt himself getting weaker and more frail. His thoughts came rushing to his head, only slightly ruining his focus, he cannot fail he thought he had already failed in the past. He fought on out of the fear of failing, casting spell after spell after spell until, he lost focus drowning in his own thoughts, until he focused once more on the beast in front of him, throwing the fireball spell at it, that Fizban had taught him so long ago, it was perfect for this occasion. It hit the creature creating a fiery explosion that exploded in the air above Raistlin's head. The creature was black and could fly up to a certain feet in the air, this illusion was created by a certain spell. The explosion caused a shake and fiery pieces falling from the sky , it was a good and a mysterious spell that Tas's friend had taught him, in Fiban's forgetful words, "It did just the job." Lightening shot out of Raistlin's right hand killing the creature on the right side of him,  lightening shot out of Raistlin's left hand at the creature to his left killing it instantly. But Raistlin didn't see what was lurking behind him. Before he could cast another spell, he got hit in the head, returning to the darkness of his mind.

Then his nightmares returned, the nightmares of being burned on a hex for being a mage. He didn't have Caramon to protect him anymore from these horrible horrible dreams! He fought on not knowing when or how to escape. Whenever this happened he could only vaguely remember the nightmares, but he always knew when they were coming. They always happened in a sequence as if someone was playing mind as if he was being controlled by a puppeteer and he was the puppet. The next nightmare scared him and he had started to scream in fright. He finally calmed down and fell into a deep slumber. Only to awake at a peculiar sight, something different than what he had thought would happen, proving that sometimes history doesn't repeat itself.
