Benny and Kayla both took turns hitting to each positions for a couple hours. They didn't start the actual game until noon.

Kayla was up first to bat, as usual. The sun was shining straight down on them.

Kayla got in her stance and nodded to Kenny indicating that she was ready and to throw him THE HEATER. Kenny pitches and the ball came in contact with the wooden bat, making it CRACK!

Benny watched in amazement as he saw Scott catch the guts of the ball.

"Whoa. . ." He mumbled with a small blush coating his cheeks.

"Oh, man! Bitchen!" The guys say as they walked towards Kayla with impressed looks on their faces.

"Nah, it ain't." Kayla said with a frown as she looked at the ball in Scotty's glove.

"Come on Kayla. Maybe two or three guys in history have ever busted the guts out of a baseball." Squints says that caused Kayla to hit him upside the head with her glove.

"Oww! Hey, what was that for?" He asked while rubbing the spot she hit while the rest guys snicker at him.

"Yeah. Only guys. I bet a girl has never gutted out a ball out in history." She replied sassily while crossing her arms glaring at him.

"And it's only noon, and I just ruined the whole day for us." Kayla says sadly with a sigh.

"No you didn't luv, that was the most amazing thing I've ever seen!" Benny said while walking towards her and pulling her into his side.

"LOVE??" The guys all yell together causing Benny to chuckle nervously as he scratched the back of his head.

"Yeah, me and Kayla are dating now. Have been since yesterday." Benny explained with a smile.

"Anybody got any money?" The girl asks hopefully but they all shake their heads making her sigh.

"Then it ain't ok, cause now we can't play no more." Kayla says as Benny helped her calm down but rubbing circles on her back trying to calm her.

"Yeah, we can." Smalls says causing everyone's head to turn towards him.

"What? You got 98 EXTRA cents laying around at home, smalls?" Benny asks the smaller boy.

"No, but I got a ball." He replied.

"GO GET IT!" They all exclaim while pushing him.

A few minutes later Scotty comes running back with the ball in his hands and shows it to Kayla.

"Bitchen, Your ball, your ups. Here you go." Kayla says handing the ball to Scotty.

Time Skip:

They all went home sad and disappointed that night. They felt that there lives were over. Kayla felt so bad for Scott, he was like a little brother to her. His dad was probably gonna knock him to his grave when he finds out about the ball.

"We tried everything." Benny says with a sigh as he lays on his bead.

"Not everything." Kayla says causing the teen boy to look at her.

"What do you mean?" Benny asks sitting up in his bed staring her confused.

"I mean that I'm about to just go over and ask Mr. Mertle to get that ball for us." She explains making his eyes grow wide.

"No! You can't do that!" Benny exclames.

"Your really gonna believe Squints out of all people?" She asks with her hands on her hips as she looks at her boyfriend with a raised brow.

"Yeah, yeah. He's over dramatic but still. I don't need to lose you. Nor do I want to Princess." Benny admits with a slight voice crack and looks down. Kayla looks at him lovingly then climbs into bed and sits in front of him.

"You're not going to lose me, mi amor." She whispers as she placed her index finger under his chin making him look up at her.

"Promise?" He asks, she kissed his cheek.

"I promise. Now, let's go to bed." She says with a yawn, making him chuckle at her. Kayla soon falls asleep on his chest with Benny's arms around her.

BENNY'S POV:

I was in a peaceful slumber when I wake up to. . .cheering? And it was coming from my closet. I remember that Kayla was with me so I went to see what it was being careful not to wake her up.

"Who's there?" I ask standing in front of Kayla protectively. 'I seem to do that a lot' I say to myself.

"Don't go peein your pants kid. I'm just here to give you a hand." The Babe said.

"B--But you're. . ."  I trail off as I stared at him in disbelief.

"Dead?"

"The king of crash. The Sultan of. . ." I say before he cut me off.

"I go by many names. That your girl?" The Babe asked with a small smile as he nodded his head at Kayla.

"Yeah." I say smiling as I looked at her. She looked so peaceful when she slept.

"She good?" The Babe asks with a knowing smile.

"One of the best." I responded.

"She's a keeper. Don't let my daughter go." The Babe added.

"Wasn't planning on it." I responded with a smile.

"Remember kid. There's heros and there's legends. Heros get remembered but legends never die. Follow your heart kid and you'll never go wrog."

"Think about it kid." He said and disappeared.

"Wake up, Hermosa. I have an idea on how to get the ball back." I said, gently shaking her awake.

---------------------------------

"Benny, no! Are you insane?!" Kayla yells her heart racing as he opens the box.

"Maybe." He chuckled, opening his secret weapon. P.F Flyers.

"Benny, no this was my fault. You don't have to do this!" Scotty exclames in desperation as Kayla walks over to him and places her hands on his shoulders.

"Yeah, I do Smalls. I have to do this." Benny says about to hop over the fence.

"Benny, wait! Promise me you'll come back over that fence! Please!" Kayla says, her eyes filled with fear. He looks her straight into the eyes and says, "I promise" And jumps over.

Kayla's heart started beating again when he came flying over the fence with the slobbery ball. She ran to him and hugged him, practically squeezing the life out of the latino boy. He quickly pecked her on her lips.

"Lemme see the ball." She says as they break apart from the short kiss. They then see a huge English Bulldog jump over the green fence and run towards them at full speed.

"OH, SHIT!" Kayla and Benny exclaimed and they both took of running.

"What are we waiting for? Let's get 'em!"
Scott says and he and the rest of the guys started to run after the young couple.
