Chapter 42: Not So Back To Normal

PARANG diyosa na halos bigyan na ng alay si Ingrid nang marating ang eskuwelahan. Walang sulok siyang dinaanan na hindi siya binibigyang galang ng mga estudyante at pati na rin ng mga guro.

Ang dati niyang mga terror teacher ay nagmistulang anghel na dumaan sa lupa kung ngitian siya't batiin ng magandang umaga. Ang dating security guard sa main gate na grabe kung magalit kapag nagpapaalam siyang maagang uuwi ay halos itumba na ang lahat ng nasa paligid, makaraan lang siya nang walang sagabal.

Hindi siya sanay sa atensyon, pero kakayanin niyang masanay sa dami ng benepisyo. Naiintindihan na niya kung bakit malaki ang ulo ng apat. Ngayon niya lang nakita nang mata sa mata kung bakit ganoon na lamang abusuhin ng magpipinsan ang kanilang pagiging dugong bughaw.

She was living a privileged life. She could easily ask for anything with just a snap of her fingers from people she barely knew.

Taas noo na tinungo ni Ingrid nang mag-isa ang classroom dahil siya ata ang pinakaunang nagising sa palasyo. Sanay na rin naman siyang nauunang dumating sa klase kaya hindi na bago ang lahat.

Everything was back to normal. At least, sort of. She still needed to accept the fact that she would be treated differently now that she's a seal. But other than that, her life was pretty much just the same. She was still attending the elite class, she could still solve cases, and she was still on a look out for a criminal.

Naghintay siya nang tahimik sa kaniyang upuan nang biglang pumasok si Sir Balderama bitbit ang kaniyang mga instructional materials.

"Good morning, your majesty. I do hope you enjoyed your party last night."

Ingrid forced herself to smile. "It would be offensive to the count if I say I didn't."

The teacher chuckled before he went back to preparing his stuff to its right places while he kept their communication going.

"So, how are you feeling now? What do you think about your new life so far?"

Napaisip bigla si Ingrid bago sumandal sa kaniyang upuan at napabuntong-hininga.

"I don't know. Lightheaded? I'm still processing things. I didn't expect any of this to happen at all."

"Well, fate has its own twisted ways, your majesty. If it's yours, the world will deliver it to you in the most unexpected and unanticipated way possible."

Ingrid nodded slowly to agree even though her teacher was too busy to even look at her.

"Thank you for the recommendation, sir. I was not expecting comments."

Nang matapos ng guro ang pag-aayos ay naupo siya sa teacher's chair para maharap ang kabuuan ng klase.

"Nah, I didn't do that just because you're my student. You perform way better than the other seals. I just told the count the truth."

Naantig naman kahit papaano ang puso ni Ingrid ngunit agad ding nawala nang biglang bumukas ang pinto.

"Master, you can't go to school alone anymore! Seals should come to school together!" Chase complained as he rushed towards his seat and pulled it closer to Ingrid's.

Sunod-sunod na ang tatlo na pumasok at dumiretso sa kani-kanilang upuan kaya't tumayo na kaagad si Sir Balderama at tumikhim.

"Now that everyone's here, we shall start."

Hindi maintindihan ni Ingrid bakit kanina pa hindi natatapos ng apat ang long quiz. Masyadong madali ang mga tanong at wala naman kailangan i-solve ngunit kung sagutan ito ng mga binata ay parang may exam sila sa Quantum Physics.
