"Keep your book aside and see this" saying this ashi came in front of her husband with a beautiful red saree placed on her shoulder
"It's beautiful...when did you buy it?" Rishabh asked smiling
"No bhabhisa gifted me this in my sargi along with other items" Ashi spoke placing the pallu of her saree properly and looking in the mirror once again
"In what ? What's sargi?" Rishabh asked frowning
"Tomorrow is karva chauth in this festival married women fast for their husband's long life and happy married life . Even I am doing that " Ashi exclaimed happily completely missing the frown on her husband's face
"No you are not " Rishabh spoke seeing his wife arranging bangles ignoring his displeasure
"What? Why? " She asked shocked
"What do you mean by why? You are pregnant have you forgotten that? " Was her husband's stern reply
" Don't worry I will eat fruits as I am pregnant and even will have food before sunrise and can have dinner after Pooja " she explained smiling
"No you are not " he ordered
"I want to " she too said stubbornly
"You can do the Pooja but no fasting" Rishabh tried explaining
"I will " she answered placing her saree in the cupboard
"I said no" he said angry now
"I want to fast and I will fast " she replied strictly
"I am your husband and I am asking you not to fast and my age will not increase if you will stay hungry " he shouted
"I am doing the fast and you will now not say anything negative about it . " She too shouted back
Listening to their voices their bhaisa and Bhabhisa came into their room seeing them Ashi sat on bed and started wailing loudly before Rishabh could say anything bhaisa scolded Rishabh
"At least listen to me bhaisa . " Rishabh tried to speak but all in vain Ashi was their princess and Rishabh had learned that in these many months of marriage
"Bacha what happen ? What did Rishabh do ? " bhaisa asked caressing Ashi's head and screamed at Rishabh "why are you standing there bring glass of water "
After 15 minutes Ashi calmed down and explained everything and then there were two groups arguing one of bhaisa and Rishabh and other of Ashi and her bhabhisa when the boys realised their girls won't listen the couple agreed for compromise that Ashi will eat fruits and drink milk .
ONE HOUR LATTER
"Ap naraz ho? Are you upset?"
"I am worried for your health Jaan "
"I want to thank God for bringing you in my life. Every night I still fear that tommorow when I will wake up all this would be my dream . And when every morning i realise that now this is my reality i could not belive for some seconds. Rishabhji you don't even know what are you for me ? Because i don't think I will ever be able to express how grateful I am to God that he sent you in my life and this is my opportunity to show my gratitude to God and pray for you for me and for us ".
Rishabh was speechless listening her and has tears in my eyes . He took her in his warm embrace and promised her "Ashi, jaan i promise you I am only yours and will always be with you . " Knowing how much this promise means to her
NEXT MORNING
"Eat " Rishabh spoke sternly on dinning table
"No ...I am full " Ashi pleaded with a pout
"Aashi eat one more chapati " saying this Rishabh feed another morsel of chapati deep in panner cury to his stubborn wife who was hell bent on keeping fast for him .
Rishabh has never seen her this stubborn side of his wife before . She would always do as he asks her to do but yesterday he saw another side of his wife . Who for the first time fought with him , screamed at him and even gave him silent treatment till he agreed with her stubbornness . If it was any other day he would be happiest to see this side of his wife but not now when she is heavily pregnant at this young age that too anaemic . So, here he was feeding her sargi.
His thoughts broke seeing a morsel in front of his lips . He ate silently without saying anything as the last thing he wants to do is to upset his fasting wife that too when she is pregnant.
"Why are you smiling now?" Rishabh asked seeing his wife smiling
"I am happy" she said shrugging
Rishabh kisses her forehead and says ," always stays happy meri jaan "
