4: The Daughter's Agony

Autumn's pov

Today is Friday and we have P.E for our last subject for today. Our physical education teacher is not around but she left an activity for us. My classmates and I are on our way to the school's gymnasium for our practice. Dapat ay sa dance practice room kami mag ppractice kaya lang ay occupied ito ngayon. The dance club are currently having an audition for students and Ms. Amelia is one of the judge that's why she is not here.

Our task is to practice and learn the proper standing position, the five foot and arm positions in ballet and it will be performed next Friday. Nang makarating sa gymnasium ay pumwesto kami sa right corner side ng gym dahil mayroong kaming mga kasabay na naglalaro ng basketball. I went straight on the bleachers and sat on one of the seats. My classmates started to learn the different positioning. 'Yung iba naman ay katulad kong umupo din at nanood ng basketball. Dahil next week pa ang performance ay malamang tinatamad silang magpractice.

I chose not to practice because I already know those different positions because I am a ballerina until I was grade six. I am very familiar with the positions and I think that's my advantage in our activity. Plano ko sanang umuwi na lang kaya lang hindi nagpapalabas ang guard hangga't hindi pa uwian so I have no choice but to stay here.

"Autumn!" Lily shouted. Nang tumingin ako sa kanya ay sinesanyan nya akong lumapit sa kanila ni Mia kaya lumapit ako sa kanila.

"Alam mo na ba 'yung gagawin?" Mia asked.

"Yes. It's the basic." I said.

"Paturo naman kami Autumn. Hindi ko magets 'yung printed lecture ni ma'am, wala man lang picture." reklamo ni Lily.

Since I have nothing to do, I engage myself in teaching them.

"We should practice the preparatory position first." I said. Humarap ako sa kanilang dalawa ni Mia habang sila ay nakaharap din sa akin. "Let me show you the proper standing." I turned out both of my feet and keep my arms on my side, extending it slightly forward as I bent my wrist slightly with my fingers pointed almost touching. Then I keep my back and upper body straight and my head slightly lifted.

"Ang galing!" Lily looked at me liked I did something amazing. That was just the preparatory position though.

"You must be a ballerina before." sabi ni Mia na tila manghang mangha rin sa akin.

"Actually, I did. Back to our practice, try to emulate my position."

Parehas nilang ginaya ang ginawa ko kanina. Nang makita ko si Lily na mukhang naninigas na sa posisyon nya ay lumapit ako.

"Just relaxed your head and shoulder." Mia burst out laughing while looking to Lily.

"Kay Autumn mukhang madali lang, bakit gano'n?" nakasimangot nyang sabi.

"I was like that before, its your first time so it is acceptable."

Sunod kong itinuro sa kanila ang foot and arms position. I feel like I'm a teacher teaching them. They do good in the arms position, nahirapan lang sila parehas sa foot position lalo na sa pangatlo hanggang sa panglima.

"Wait, time out muna." sabi ni Lily at sumalampak sa sahig. Gano'n din ang ginawa ni Mia habang hinihilot ang paa.

Umalis naman ako saglit para pumunta sa banyo. The rest room was located inside the gymnasium near the entrance, kaya hindi ko na kailangan lumabas. Papasok na sana ako sa banyo nang may tumawag sa akin. It was Isaac, my classmate.

"Autumn, hinahanap ka ni True. Puntahan mo daw sya sa parking." he said and left. Kaya pala kanina ko pa hindi nakikita si True dito, nasa labas pala. Teka, ano naman ang ginagawa nya doon?
