Simon paces up and down Hope's apartment, leaving marks on her floor that he would have to clean later while she sat on her couch, eating a burrito and trying to watch Big Time Rush.

The two were on different stages of not being welcome at the Instituite with Hope being the one who was living in the moment. "How are you so calm?" Simon stopped his pacing, choosing to block her from the TV entirely, maybe now he could get her attention.

With one move of her wrist though, he was moved to the side as he groaned when he nearly tripped over her shoe. "Have an eddie and a burrito and chill." Hope too had been stressed until she decided some drugs would be nice.

"I'm choosing to have blind optimism," Hope removed the pack of gummies from her bra, opening it and holding it out to Simon. He looked down at her in a pair of shorts and a bra before he looked down at the gummies. One wouldn't hurt.

"You're choosing to be a drug addict." He took one and popped it.

He sat down beside her while she finally went back to her show. She giggled at the wild sound effects while Simon spoke to her about Clary and Jace, Izzy and Alec. Maybe it was a bad idea to give him drugs right now.

"Who does that Victor guy think he is?" Now his mind would be stuck on the lockdown.

"The head of the Instituite," Hope answered with a shrug. She shoved half of her burrito into her mouth, Simon watching her with a weird look on his face. She didn't really seem to care about Jace, she hasn't even blinked, she hasn't shown any sign of caring.

"Jace could be dead," Simon watched as she finally turned to him, blue eyes dim as they clashed with his caring brown ones. "He's not dead." Hope spoke, a bean on her cheek as she licked it off. She looked like a frat bro about to go to his third party of the night when in reality she should be finishing an assignment for college.

"Would you care if he was?"

Hope was way too high for whatever this was.

"I'd miss him," Hope admitted, finding no room to lie as she scanned her best friend's eyes. She reached a hand out, placing it on top of his and giving it a light squeeze, "He'll be fine, Si." She had no proof of this but Simon nodded, "We'll be alright." She got up, burrito still in one hand as she started pulling on her shoes.

She paused the show and looked over at Simon who had sunk into his seat, right hand lazily draped over his head as Hope used her empty hand to tell him to get up. "Where are we going?" He asked, sighing as he got up.

"Jace is wanted," She reminded him, although he couldn't stop himself from thinking of that fact. Before all downworlders were banned, Victor had revealed that they wanted Jace; dead or alive. "They could hurt him." Simon didn't even know why he cared.

"That's why we're going to find him first so I'll be the only threat to his life," Hope grabbed her white tank top from the couch, pulling it over her messy blonde hair as she looked over at him, taking a bite of her burrito. "It's go time."
