chapter four. just a kiss

Hope stood tall, almost face to face with Jace in her heels. "What are you doing here?" He asked.

"I needed to see you." She explained, taking his hand into her own.

The sudden touch from her gave him chills, but he tried to keep his cool. His eyes narrowed as his hand remained in hers. "Why?"

She shrugged, "I missed you." She stated plainly. She couldn't go another day without seeing him.

Jace had to fight down a cocky smirk. "Oh really? Couldn't go a day without me? That sounds like someone has feelings for me.." He teased, gently tugging on a strand of her golden blonde curls.

"A little." She admitted, not sure where the honesty came from.

He raised his eyebrow, slightly surprised that Hope actually told the truth. "Wait, what? Really?" He asked, tilting his head ever so slightly, his hand still in hers.

"From the moment I saw you."

His heart was racing at her confession. He didn't know what to say at first, but a smirk spread across his lips. "Well.. I was hoping you'd say that.." He leaned in closer, pressing a kiss to her lips before pulling away.

"You need to come with me," she pulled on his hand.

He groaned slightly, but allowed her to tug him forward, following behind her like an obedient puppy. "Where are you taking me?" He questioned, intrigued yet slightly nervous.

"Back home." She said and he shook his head, "I cant."

Hope sighed, slightly irritated that he refused to go with her. "Why not?" She asked firmly, her grip on his hand tightening.

He tried to ignore her pout, but it was damn near impossible. He hated to admit it, but she made his heart melt whenever she did that.

"Don't look at me like that." He grumbled, running his free hand through his messy golden blonde hair.

"Everyone misses you. Clary, Alec, Izzy, Simon." She could have gone on forever.

Jace's eyes darkened slightly at the mention of Clary's name. He didn't want to talk about her right now, not when Hope was looking at him like that.

"Yeah, well.." He shrugged, unsure of what to say. "What about you? Do you miss me?" He asked softly.

She kissed him suddenly, hot and heavy before pulling away, "What do you think?"

Jace was taken aback by the sudden kiss, his body pressed against hers. His breathing was ragged and he had to fight down a moan that threatened to escape his lips.

"I guess I have my answer then, sweetheart." He muttered, gripping onto her hips tightly.

"I have to go but I'll visit you again." She kissed him once before disappearing into a portal.
