.
This was it, cas was going to tell dean, then dean would run away, and it would be the single worst day of Castiel's seemingly short life.
He knocked on the door once to show dean it was him, like he always did.
"hello dean" he greeted formally
"hey cas, what's up?"
A tear scraped across Castiels face
"the tests came back dean, I didn't tell you about that, I had some tests done about my cough, I was worried, I-I-I have lung cancer, it's spread so quickly, I- It can't be c-cured" he surpressed as many sobs as possible "I have a few weeks to l-live"
Dean stood there, eyes wide, every human emotion sprinted across his face until only fear and sadness and horror stayed in place.
"w-what?"
"dean, I u-understand that you don't want my burden..." tear after tear chasing one another on his cheeks
" I will not make it any harder than It already is, I'll be going now, I don't wish to waste your time"
Castiel turned away and started walking down the hallway.
He soon heard loud footsteps speeding behind him.they stopped as something grabbed his hand
"Cas, listen to me, I said I would hunt through purgatory for you, I'm not gonna let some threat to your life stop us! If you only have a few weeks to live, so be it! I will make these weeks the best weeks you'll ever see, let me help you"
Cas whipped his head round to see dean standing there. He grabbed dean and pulled him into a kiss, Dean slipped his hands around Castiels waste, it was different, this kiss wasnt like the others, not lustful or pityfull or even sad, it was desperate, desperate for eachother, for survival. Cas pulled away and burried his head into the crook of deans neck "thank you"
