Valerie's pov ——————— Last night: I sat down next to Ruby on the couch "hey" I put my knees up to my chest "hey" he put the TV remote down, "Are you good? Like with Olivia and Cesar?" I asked, not wanting to be weird "yeah" he said, playing with the pillow he rested his arm on. "Are you sure? " I avoid eye contact.
"Yep,why do you do that?" He asked."Do what?" I looked at him."Care for others more than yourself?" He continued."I don't know. " I looked down."It's nothing to be ashamed of." I felt him tucked a loose piece of hair behind my ear as I looked up at him."You always listen to everyone and their stupid problems. Let me listen to yours. " he scoots closer."You don't have to do that, " I denied."I know I want to what's in that pretty head of yours?"
I thought for a moment before speaking up, "I grew a middle child, Diego, being a popular football player in high school, and my younger brother always had to run back and forth to the hospital for something so I never got much attention so I grew up with it. When I got older, it stuck, so I observed and listened to people - this is dumb. " I put my head in my knees
"No, it's not princesa continue if you want," he reassured. "I like not talking a whole bunch, I mean yeah sure it feels good to speak up once in a while, but listening is better, plus I am so much better than that," I joke "and when my younger brother died all the attention moved onto Diego again. About how he joined Los santos and how he dropped out of high school. My dad was the only one who paid attention, so when he died, the less and less attention I had. Then my mom left, and I finally got the attention from Diego and his Fiancé Maria, but I didn't want it anymore." I yawn.
"Go to sleep," he said, I nodded. "Night ruby," I sent him a tired smile "goodnight my dear." he once again tucked a loose piece of hair behind my ear."Sleep well,and dream about our wedding colors 'cause I'm down with anything but beige," he said calmly, I let out a small laugh as he stood up "lavender" I say still sitting. Ruby smirked.
I got up and went into Olivia's room to find her asleep, I covered her up and then lay down myself. I fell asleep smiling.
present time:
Time as past Olivia and Cesar are officially together, and we just got done eating Thanksgiving dinner, and now we're sitting at the table eating Tres leches. Oh, and also, I still haven't heard from Diego or Maria, but I found out what happened through Oscar. Diego got jumped to get me out of the gang, and he has been at the hospital this whole time. Oh, and Ruby has been trying to get me to talk more, which is kinda working
"Wait, where's Mario? I was holding to see him, " jamal asked. "He went with his new bougie girlfriend to Nevada." Ruby explained "instead of coming home?" Monse asks."He's in the bone zone." I joke "ture" Ruby and Monse say in union "can you pass the Tres leches?" Olivia asked. Jamal passed it over to her. "My mom makes the best Tres leches for my birthday." Olivia said as she ate.
