I decide on a short black dress with long sleeves because it's not cold nor hot. I wear black boots under it and take a white bag with me.

In case paparazzi shows up I wear sunglasses.

I walk back into the living room and Chris grabs my arm softly to stop me from going to the door.

"Chris, let me go.." I whisper. "I don't want you to leave.." He whines again.

"We just had this exact conversation, I'm already late.. you can stay here until I get back?" I suggest, trying to leave now.

"Okay, I'll wait for you." He says. "Bye Chris." I tell him and then I leave, locking the door behind me.

I get in the car and drive to my parents house. On the way I buy some wine for my mother and I to drink.

When I arrive I ring the bell and after a few seconds my mother opens the door.

"Y/n, hi! Come in, come in.." She takes the wine, thanks me and takes my coat after I got in.

I go to the living room where my dad is reading the paper on the couch as my mother goes to put the wine in the refrigerator.

"Hi dad." I speak, he looks up and a smile appears on his face.

"Hi honey, how are you doing?" He asks me when I sit down next to him and we share a short hug.

"I'm doing fine, what about you?" He puts the newspaper on the table. "I'm fine, just getting old." I laugh.

"Would you both like something to drink?" My mother asks when she steps into the room.

"Yes, earl grey tea please." My dad says, he always drinks tea.

"I would like some water please." I say, knowing I'll be drinking wine soon.

"Coming right up, dinner is ready in 10 minutes." She speaks before going back to the kitchen.

A few minutes later she comes up with our drinks and puts them on the table. She then sits down on one of the single chairs across from me.

"What's new in your life?" My mother asks since her and my dad don't watch the news or read anything online.

"Nothing. Much." I mumble. "Sorry?" She asks.

"Not much." I clear my throat. "Really? Literally nothing?" She asks as if she's searching for another answer. "Nope, I guess not." She sighs.

"Well alright, let's just go to the dinner table then." I follow them to the dining room.
