I think this kind of descended into a crackfic, sorry lmao

~~~
"Y/N! Get back here!"
"It's nothing!"
"You're injured!"
"It's not like I've been stabbed, Ibaraki!"
~~~

When Ibaraki finally managed to grab you, he could tell it definitely wasn't nothing. The humans had been trying to drive the demons out of Mt. Oe, so you had decided to step up, being a human yourself. But the humans, being the stupid, deluded monkeys they are, decided that you had been possessed by the demons, and decided to try and attack you instead.

 The villagers all knew that you had been friends with the demons on Mt. Oe for a while, but they didn't know the fact that you had fallen in love with one of them... And it was probably best they didn't know.

"It is most definitely like you hav been stabbed, Y/N."

Ibaraki looked down at the gash on your back, and sighed. Taking this chance, you took a step forward, trying to run away. Two (Well more like one arm and a half-) strong arms wrapped around your waist, gently picking you up and slinging you over his shoulder. You were flustered at first, but then realised what was going on.

Trying to fight back, you started trying to wriggle out of his grip, but damn, was he strong. You started zoning out, staring at his muscles.

"Kidnapped a human, Ibaraki?" You were snapped out of your admiration for his biceps by hearing Hoshiguma's voice. You realised that oops, he had taken you to Mt. Oe.

"Do you think we could use them as a hostage...?" Shuten said, relaxing on a rock. He looked at your face before laughing. "Ha! Hoshiguma, it's Y/N!" All the Doji's started laughing, leaving you slightly embarrassed. It seemed like Ibaraki remembered why he had brought you here, as he gently put you down.

"Hoshiguma, how do you take care of a human's wounds?" He asked. Hoshiguma took one look at the wound and shook his head. "Damn. I'll get the supplies..." He started mumbling as he walked away, saying something like "Gosh damn blood all over the grass..."

Shuten sat next to me, staring at the wound. "Ibaraki, are you sure you know how to bandage a wound?"

Ibaraki thumped his chest, beaming. "I learnt it just so I could take care of Y/N!"

His words made you flush slightly, looking away, trying to hide your face in your hands. Shuten noticed, but didn't say anything.

Shuten stood up suddenly, saying something about wine. Before he left, he winked at you.

'Traitor...' you thought. How dare he leave you alone here, with the love of your life?

You made a mental note to thank him later.

The awkward silence between you was suddenly cut off by you remembering you had been stabbed. Where was the urgency...? By remembering your injury, you also remembered the pain.

Letting out a small groan, you doubled over, oh wait that's only making it worse, so you lay down on your stomach.

Ibaraki worriedly hovers over you, slightly nervous that you're going to die. Luckily, before he can start panicking, Hoshiguma returns with the supplies, and leaves just as quickly.

And you were once again on your own with Ibaraki.

"Take off your shirt." He said gruffly, standing over you.

'Oh, Ibaraki, I think this is moving too fast... At least take me to dinner first!'

You obliged, taking off your shirt, giving Ibaraki a good look at the gash. Gently, he touched it, trying to clean the wound. You hissed, the alcohol stinging. Ibaraki withdrew his hand immediately at the sound. He took a deep breath. "Sorry. This is going to hurt." He poured the ENTIRETY of the wine onto the gash, almost making you scream.

'Shuten is going to kill me later...'

~~~
Meanwhile, a little while away Hoshiguma and Shuten were speculating on how it was going. "Do you think we need to check on them-" Hoshiguma was cut off my your almost-scream, startling them both. "Wow, jumping right into it, even while Y/N's injured... Impressive move by Ibaraki, to say the least..." Shuten chuckled.
~~~

Back at you at Ibaraki, tears had started forming in your eyes. His arms were wrapped around you, holding you in place.

"Can I move now...?"

You nodded through the pain, tears welling up. You let out another groan of pain as Ibaraki started moving....

moving the swab with water on it.

(What did you think was going on, you dirty minded...?)

Once Ibaraki decided it was clean enough, he started bandaging the wound.

"Sorry."

"Why do you keep apologising, Iba?" You ask, turning your head to look at him. To your surprise, Ibaraki also had some tears in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry! I wasn't there to protect you! I wasn't good enough!"

You were taken aback by his words. You had never seen Ibaraki like this before...

"I'll try harder! I'll train against my best friend Shuten everyday!"

His words were becoming more and more sniffly, as tears actually started falling. You brought up your hands to his face, smiling at him.

"Don't worry, Iba! It wasn't your fault!"

Sniffing, Ibaraki's eyes met yours.

"You mean it?"

"Yeah! It was those nasty villager's fault!" You said, trying not to laugh at the face he was making at you. Your face was slightly red at the proximity of his face, but then Ibaraki decided to move his face even closer. Staring into your eyes, Ibaraki proclaimed;

"I'll beat all those nasty villagers! Just for you, my dear Y/N!"

He probably didn't hear himself, as your face flushed at his words. Leaning forward, you planted a kiss on his forehead, giggling at his childish words.

Ibaraki stared at you, before his face exploded into red, blushing intensely.

"Thanks, Iba! I know you'll always protect me."

He sputtered, but managed to regain his composure for a second.
"Yeah! Y/N, don't you ever worry! I'll always protect you!"

Bonus-

"Hey Ibaraki, did you finally pop your cherry?" Hoshiguma asked Ibaraki when he returned. Ibaraki looked at him in confusion.
"What does that mean...?"
"You know, doing the deed!" Shuten joined in.
"The devil's tango!" Hoshiguma added.
"Hanky pankying!"
"Careless whisper's playin' in the background!"
"Jiggery-pokery!"
"Monkeyshines!"

Needless to say, Ibaraki was very confused.
