Susanoo- The offering pt2 alternate

You look behind you at the golden god, before looking in front of you to the evil god. Orochi's hand was tantalising, but you knew what fate awaited you there.
And maybe the unknown would be better than the death you would surely meet at the hands of an evil god known to be merciless. Behind you, the golden gods hair was streaming in the wind, as the rubble falling down somehow ignored him.
The moonlight seemed to be only shining on him, giving him a look of ethereal safety and hope. Maybe he was your only way out. Either you died from being covered in rubble, died from the evil god, or the unknown path.

Gulping, you took the golden god's hand. As your hand met his, you felt a small spark of lightning, making you jump. 

His eyes closed in relief, but only for a second. Looking at Orochi in the eye, the god said;

"Better luck next time, Evil god Orochi." As he said that, Orochi's eyes narrowed in rage, his snakes that were hiding behind him suddenly towering up.

The god summoned lightning, quickly attacking Orochi. The evil god dodged it easily, but the god took that moment to escape. He flew out of the collapsing cave, just as fast as the lightning he had summoned. Slightly terrified, you hug the golden god, shutting your eyes tight. The god looks down at you, eyes softening. 

"Don't worry, you're safe now." His arms wrapped around you, making sure to hold you close. 

"I'll protect you."

When you and the god finally landed, you were dizzy, winded and tired. Looking around you, the god had stopped in a small cave where a (very) fat cat sat underneath a statue of a lion. 

"Excuse me, that's bodyshaming."

You jumped, startled as you heard a voice. Looking around you, you half expected to see another evil god. 

"I am not an evil god! And I'm down here."

You look down and see the cat laying under the statue was staring at you. 

"Huh?" You stare at it as the cat grooms itself.

"Tomb guard, stop teasing her. She's probably tired and scared." The golden god kneels in front of the cat, picking it up by the scruff and throwing it into the corner.

'I'm too tired to question that' You thought to yourself.

The golden god turns back to you, motioning for you to sit down on a stone. You oblige, happy to rest.

"My name is Susanoo, I am Takamagahara's divine executioner. Thank you for coming with me, and not allowing Orochi to use you to be able to escape." The god introduces himself as he sits down next to you. Susanoo smiles at you, as though asking you to reciprocate.

"My name is Y/N Minamoto, I was a member of the Minamoto clan, but I guess I'm not anymore. So I'm just Y/N now." You look down at your knees, trembling slightly when you remember how Yorimitsu had lied about what the sacrifices were doing.

Susanoo took notice of this, and took your hand, smiling. 

"Please don't worry anymore. You're safe now."

His beautiful smile was one you would see everyday from then on. This beautiful, golden god who had to bear the weight of killing countless creatures. 

But from then on, he didn't have to bear it alone.
