Lyrica couldn't sleep the night before her flight. For some reason she had some energy inside to keep her awake. She tried everything from listening to classical music to trying the sounds of the ocean waves. But nothing worked for her. So she decided to walk it out and left her room. She went to the kitchen and noticed her Aunt was in there drinking a bottle of soju with lychee Calpico.

"Isn't it it too late to be drinking at this hour?" Lyrica said to her.

"What are you doing still awake?" Her Aunt asked her.

"I couldn't sleep," Lyrica then walked to the fridge to get some water, "Maybe I'm just excited to fly over in the morning."

"I see." He Aunt took a sip of her cocktail.

"Soju and Calpico?" Lyrica walked over to the table with her cold water to sit across from her Aunt.

"Your mom liked this cocktail for some reason. Actually, because you could barely taste the alcohol.

"Sounds about right."

"When she was in high school, maybe her senior year? She asked me to buy a bottle of soju because she wanted to try this drink. I did it because I wanted to be the cool sister and I remember that night she had so much...Let's just say it didn't go down very well for her," she laughed a bit, "Though, I heard she became more of a wine connoisseur after moving to Valentino. She would send us a bottle of an expensive wine every Christmas..." she then looked up to Lyrica's face, "Are you ready to leave?" Her Aunt then picked up her cup to take another sip.

"I would say about so. I don't know I'm gonna miss everyone obviously. How do you feel?"

"How do I feel? Well to me it reminds me when Lyra left for school," she said to her and she gave a small smile, "One day after I came back during my college's winter break she announced she was going to study abroad in Valentino."

- over ten years ago -

"You're going to what?" Aunt Mei could not wrap around her head what her sister just said.

"I'm going to study abroad in Valentino! They offered me this huge scholarship too. Literally the whole trip and the classes are practically paid for, courtesy of the school of course. I mean it's perfect I've always wanted to study abroad somewhere and the fact that I can go without worrying about finances is even better. What do you think mom?" She looked over at her mother for her approval.

"I think it sounds wonderful." Her mother said with a soft tone.

"Mom are you listening to what she's saying? She's literally going thousands of miles overseas to study. We won't be there if something happens you do understand that right?"

"Yea." Lyra smiled widely.

"Lyra did you even think about this?"

"Of course I did. It was a three month process anyways. I really want to study, plus! Valentino is super safe and it has a lot to offer for my major. I mean they have a lot of historical art pieces I can look at. There's also the beautiful architecture, I mean my vision there is endless!" She sounded so excited trying to convince her sister.

"I don't know..." Lyra then looked over to her mother for an answer.

"If it were me I would go. I never got the chance to look outside of The States. Mei dear, you have to remember Lyra is grown up now. She isn't the little girl you would watch over while we would go grocery shopping."

"Mom is right," Lyra crossed her arms, "I'm going no matter what Mei."

Mei can tell from her sister she was determined and sighed out, "Well if mom isn't stopping you, I guess I can't stop you. I would say just stay safe out there. Sure it's, considered safe, but you never know. Also make sure to call every now and then. It would nice to know what you're up to."
