Lyrica's alarm was going off and she was sleeping through it as usual. Vivian woke up an hour before to get ready and was getting annoyed she could hear a pop song playing every ten minutes from Lyrica's room. She decided to open her door and wake Lyrica up herself.
"Hey!" Vivian exclaimed.
"Hm?" Lyrica was barely awake.
"Wake up! Today is orientation and we have to look presentable, c'mon." She pulled her sheets away.
"Give me...Like 5 more..."
"5 more...Gosh by then we might as well put you in your pajamas and leave like that!" Vivian then made her way to Lyrica's closet and picked out a couple of clothes for her to wear. She wanted her to look presentable since she won't have time to fix her hair, or maybe even do makeup, "Okay get up!" She then threw the clothes on her bed.
"What..." Lyrica groaned as she got up from her bed and stretched her arms, "What's the rush? I mean we only live 0 minutes away from the campus."
"Lyrica let me just give you a heads up," she placed her hand on her hip, "This is your first appearance since your Debutanté to the Valentino public. In fact this is your first appearance to the future leaders of Valentino. They will be up on your case about the clothes you wear, the attitude you hold, heck! They will judge you by the coffee order you will make at the cafe. You need to look like you are ready to fight a war."
Lyrica stared at her blankly. She could not tell if it was too early, or if everything was going through one ear and exiting the other. She then fully got up from her bed and grabbed the clothes that Vivian chose for her. It was a matching tweed outfit, a black top, and a black skirt. She also noticed there was a big black bow at the collar of the top she would wear.
"Okay, I'll get ready. Can you leave me room so I can do that?"
"Of course cousin." Vivian smiled so innocently not like she was threatening her just seconds ago. She walked out of her room to give her the privacy she needed.
"Sheesh..." Lyrica rolled her eyes and she went into her bathroom to get ready.
After she was done the two got into a car to make their way to the campus. Lyrica kept adjusting her bow because she felt like it kept tilting making it crooked. The closer they got to the campus she could see students walking in, and like Vivian said everyone was wearing formal outifts. Something she would have never seen back home. Girls had their hair done, guys had on slacks and even dress shoes. She also noticed there were some reporters outside the school.
"Reporters?" Lyrica looked at Vivian, "I thought they are not that common."
"They aren't, but on a day like this with new students pouring in they want a glimpse of who is going to this school. You never know who will rise up the ranks or be on the news next." She explained to her.
The driver dropped them off at a parking structure that was away from the reporters. The only way to get into this structure is to be a student at the University. Both Lyrica and Vivian walked out of the car and made their way to one of the biggest lecture halls on campus to listen to the orientation for new students. As they were walking by Lyrica could already feel the eyes that were looking at them. Although she was used to it because people found her eyes at the States to be unique, the atmosphere here felt different to her.
"Pink eyes..."
"It's her isn't it!"
"Wow she's prettier in person."
"I wonder what she is wearing."
"C'mon don't lag behind." Vivian ordered Lyrica as she walked a bit faster.
