At first sight she didn't look like she'd be the type to think as quickly on her feet as she did in the hallway. She really didn't fit the expectations I had for her in my head.
She was short, which was cute. She looked about 4'10 maybe 4'11 at the least. Her box braids really did suit her. She really was looking some fire walking next to me.
"Yo, shawty." I said flashing a smile her way.
"I have a name." She replied rolling her eyes.
Smart mouth and an attitude? Damn shawty just got more attracted.
"My fault shawty," I laughed, "what's your name?"
"Armani. But everyone calls me Mani."
"That's cute."
I could tell she was trying her hardest not to smile but she finally did. Her smile was gorgeous. I wasn't about to tell her or she'd think I was falling for her something. I'm not even the relationship type of guy so avoiding that is a must.
"Where are you from?"
"Brooklyn. How about you?"
"Bronx."
No wonder she had a smart mouth. She's a city girl. I should've known just by looking at her.
"We have to go up the elevator to get to my class." I told her.
"That's cool. What floor?"
Why did she always sound like she had an attitude? Honestly I didn't mind it. I kinda liked it. Maybe even loved it.
"I'm going to the third floor. You?"
"Same."
"How long have you been on the third floor first period?" I asked her.
"Since always. If you ever took the time to notice." She laughed.
We came to the elevator and had to wait for the stupid thing to reach the 1st floor. I hate that thing was always so slow. Armani was starting to get impatient because she kept sighing all heavy.
"Impatient are we?" I asked teasingly.
She flashed me a little half smile. Damn her smile is adorable.
We got into the elevator and waited for it to make its way slowly up to the third floor. There was always some lame elevator music playing. I could tell she was irritated by it.
Ding!
"Where is your class? I'll walk you." I asked her.
"Uhmm...321. It's down the hall."
My class was one before hers and I was just notice this dime piece now? Seriously? That's just crazy.
"Why is there nobody in the hallway?" She asked.
"Oh shit. We're late." I said checking the time, "We're deadass dumb late for class."
It felt like we were the only two people in the world left alone the hallway. I just met this girl and she was making me feel some type of way about her. Fuck. Surely this feeling with pass. This feeling never last long anyways.
"Why so panicked?" She laughed.
Before I could answer we came to her class and she had to leave.
"It was nice talking to you." She said.
"Wait. Before you go can I get your number?"
"Sure."
I took out my phone and she put her contact info in and even took a picture. She really was something else. I could help but smile. She gave me back my phone and waved goodbye at me as she closed the door.
"ARMANI! YOU'RE LATE AGAIN!"
"Blah blah blah." I heard her say.
"Why shawty gotta be such a troublemaker." I thought to myself, smiling.
