"Hey Mani. What do you think they put in this ham and cheese? This defiantly don't look like no cheese."

Once again Lashonda was inspecting the breakfast the school served that day. I have no idea why she keeps getting the breakfast food here because she's always complaining about it.

"There's no point in ordering the food if you never plan on eating it. But forget the food and let me put you on real quick." I said all excited.

"About what? It is about the food?"

I rolled my eyes at her wondering why she always asks stupid questions. "No," I said, "but guess who's in a relationship now."

"Oh my gosh! I'm so happy for you! You two lovebirds finally tied the knot! I think I might cry." She mocked jokingly.

"Shut up! We're just dating not getting married." I laughed.

"Oh look. If it isn't Mr. Lovebird himself." She said pointing behind me.

I turned around to see Tyrell coming towards the table. Lashonda got up so he could take the seat next to me but he went around the other side of the table and sat. Lashonda and I gave each other both questioning looks.

"Really, Tyrell? What the hell? Why are you acting so distant?"

He just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. Fully aware of the attitude present in my voice.

"Ain't that some shit." Lashonda intruded.

...

"Oh so what happened yesterday was just yesterday, huh? I don't understand why you're being so distant like you didn't just ask me out yesterday. Like we didn't have something even before you asked me out." I said as I confronted Tyrell in the hallway before fourth period ended.

"Relax baby," he said as he gave me a quick kiss on the cheek, "I'm just a lowkey kind of person, you know? I just don't want people all in my business."

"I don't care. These lil hoes need to know what's mine or a both is getting her ass beat and that's a promise." I threatened.

RING RING RING

"Of all times for the bell to ring." I huffed as I watch the hallway crowd with people.

"Baby," he laughed grabbing my arm and turning me towards him, "you really want everyone to know we go out now?"

"Of course the fuck." I said rolling my eyes.

"Then what are you waiting for baby? Kiss me."

Instantly my face lit up. I could use this very moment as my advantage to let everyone know what was up with me and Tyrell. Everyone would know what was mine.

I pressed my lips against Tyrell's while he wrapped his arms around my waist. I couldn't even enjoy the moment of having everyone stop and stare because I got lost in his kiss. I swear he was intoxicating.

As we released from each other we were welcomed with looks of envy from jealous girls and thumbs up from the guys.

"OOOH TY! I SEE YOU!" Someone shouted from the crowd.

I really felt like I was on top of the world at that moment. The attention we were getting was openly welcomed.

Somehow I couldn't shake the feeling that all of this attention would call for some unnecessary drama. I mean if he wanted to keep this lowkey then it must've been for a reason right?
