5:00 am
BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ"Ughhhhh. I don't want to get up."
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
"Mani! Get up you don't hear the alarm going off?! "
"I'm turning it off right now." I said as I pull the covers back over my head.
"Armani Destiny King. If you don't get up right now I'm --"
"Aright mom. You got it. No need to use my full government. I'm getting up. See?"
"You think you're funny, don't you?"
"I know I'm funny Mom. No need to front.""We'll see how funny it is when I don't make you any breakfast." With that she walked out of my room and made her way down stairs.
"Ma! MA! STOP PLAYIN'!"
Man. I hate when she does this. Always messing with me mad early in the morning. She's a clown.
I make my way to the bathroom to freshen up. I brushed my teeth, took a shower and stopped for a minute to obverse myself in the mirror. I just be feeling myself sometimes. I can't help it. I've got a lot of self confidence. Im a fairly short brownskin. I'm only 17 years old but I'm 5'0 tall. I have a small waist with a butt that compliments my size perfectly. My hair is in box braids. My favorite thing to do with my hair.
"What to wear?" I ask myself.
Well it's supposed to rain today so I might as well put on some sweats. After rummaging through my closet I finally found my baggy Brooklyn sweats with matching sweater. I put on my Tims, grabbed my bag and headed out the door.
RING RING RING
"Who is calling me?"
"Hey boo! You need a ride?" I could recognized that voice anywhere. That's my baby Lashonda. We've been rocking with each other since the 2nd grade.
"Oh my gosh. You could've have called at a better time. Yeah, come pick me up."
"Bitch, turn around," she said laughing, "I'm behind you."
I turn around and there she is. She brought out the Camaro today. She is always trying to upstage somebody. I climb in and she's bumpin Don't I by Lil Durk. She's in love with him. There ain't a Durk song that she doesn't know.
After we stopped at McDonald's we pulled up to the school and got out. As we made our way up out of the school parking lot. I saw him. The kid in the wheelchair.
