"No way" Janet smacks her hand on the table in front of me trying to contain her bursting laughter, in which she fails to do so considering a few eyes peer to look at the person responsible for the sudden commotion.

We are conveniently seated on the window bench at the back of the small café shop. It feels like we are on a stage as its elevated feels like we are on a talk show. The café is dimly lit blending in with the rainy afternoon. The smell of fresh coffee, rain and many different voices all blend together creating a perfect yet odd comforting feeling. But Janet's laugh comes crashing down.

"You're working with Adrian king" she looks me dead in the eye for a second before she begins hysterically laughing again.

"Its really not that funny, rather depressing and people are looking at you as if you are a crazy person".

"I'm fine with that, but if they found out about this weird fanfic of a situation turned into real life experience between you and and Adrian then they would laugh alongside with me. "

"You can be really annoying you know that."

"Yes I know, but you can be very tense. You need to loosen up a little. Why be so sad?, why not just let it be until its over and you can forget about?"

I thought about Janet's suggestion but not for long as it's easier said than done. I couldn't just "let it be" I cant just act like everything is normal. As if I'm normal, Adrian is normal, everything is normal. No this is all, abnormal. We each have our version of normal or at least I do and my version of normal means no Adrian. My normal is like a sacred little island, with sunshine's and rainbows and away from all the problems going on. While for Adrian he is a Tsunami, destroying and harming anything which crosses its path. How unfortunate for little island.

"No but seriously what do you plan on doing this entire time while working with him?"

"I'm glad you asked, as I thought out a plan."

"Well?"

"Until either of us find something important to get us closer to solve the case, then we do our our own research and investigations. I'm thinking that the least amount of communications will be easer for us. He won't get put down by my ego sabotaging work performance and I won't get bothered simply by his presence. I say it's a solid plan to be left with my sanity all in one place which is not much as it's hanging by a fraying thread as we speak."

I take a sip of my now chilled chai latte. I scan the café looking at someone getting their order which is a fresh out of the oven croissant. Now I'm craving something savory to wash down the overly sweet drink.

I turn back to Janet who became really silent. And the look of a displeased mother reads off of her face.

"What, why are you looking at me like that?"

"I'm just questioning this whole thought process behind this grand and spectacular idea of yours."

"There's nothing wrong with it."

"That's the problem there is. What happens if the investigation gets too much and you need to be together more?, what will you do when he finds about this? What will you say when Miller questions you about the case as in how you two worked together?"

"To answer all your questions, all of my responses will be somewhat on the verge of a truth. We are working on the case, all is going well yet ongoing investigations and research are still being done."

"Eleanor, you cant just be like that through the entire thing. Miller will eventually find out about this, this, this convincing yet messed up truth."
