I had found a closed off room, and Charles and I were in the room together. The room housed a bunch of bookcases filled with various materials and boxes. I'm not sure how long we will be able to stay here but for now, this will do.
"Where is Adrian?" Charles turned to look at me once we had come in the room.
"He said he will be on his way." I Stood by the door listening to anyone, but everything was quiet.
I had heard some fighting and grunting from his end but afterwards pure silence.
"Adrian." I stop and say his name into the earpiece, hoping for a whisper, a breath, anything, but again it's pure quiet.
"Shit." I mouth, to buy us some time, i look around the room for a large heavy object to block the door.
"What's the problem?" Charles anxiously says as he looks at me frantically.
"We lost connection, he's not responding."
"What are we doing here then?! let's go and find him." He says as his voice becomes panicky and he starts walking to the door.
"No Charles, please stay here." I block his way from the door.
"Adrian could be in trouble!" he says with concern reeking from his voice.
"I understand, but please try to remain calm, Adrian told me to stay put, and believe me he knows what hes doing, please trust us. We will go find him but we don't know who's out there right now. We need to wait a bit."
I say this with the calmest voice imaginable yet under it all I'm just as worried. As Adrian was fighting i heard a little of his conversation between another man but even so I couldn't decipher much of what they were talking about. Maybe I should go and find Adrian now, but with Charles with me it's to risky and I'm the only one that has a weapon.
"How long then? I'm not gonna sit here and twiddle my thumbs." He says as his voice rises a bit.
"Please just-" I try to continue but a voice cuts me off.
"Maybe you should listen to dear old Charles." A voice looms somewhere in the room. But with all the shelves and it being dark I don't know who's in here.
"Stay behind." I mutter to Charles and he does just that.
I take out my gun from my thigh holster, and approach ever so slightly looking inside the scope of my gun.
I see a shadow move across the room, and I pause. Charles is currently hiding behind some metal crates, and is ducked low.
"And maybe you should tell me what you're after?"
"I think you know exactly princess."
"Who are you anyway?"
"You already wan't to know my name?"
"Lets save the introduction for later."
"I don't think there will be a later." He says as he hurls bullets near my direction but they hit the bookshelves. Sending wood bits flying all over the room.
I duck behind and in between the boxes and equipment on the shelf I peer through them, and I finally see him, he too is hiding behind the bookshelves and seems to be looking to be trying to spot me. But his face seems familiar, and then I remember, the name Haiden colt rings in my head. I had seen a mugshot photo of him. His hair was a dirty blond and curly hair, but what stood out the most was the scar across his face.
"I think we might have an introduction now, Haiden."
I hear a scoff, "You want to know me that bad, I'm flattered."
