Whenever any of us began to gripe about wanting to just go home, someone would remind that person of what was at stake and what was requested of us. Skylar's favorite argument was that we were wasting the stuff we bought earlier. She was right, I was pissed that all the stuff I bought was going to have to wait but, I'd rather wait than not get the chance to use them should something happen. I had already received the notice from Ace that everything was done, set, and ready for our grand finale, and yet; she and I both were hesitant of wanting to proceed through this. We had no rhyme, no reason, no idea as to why we were hesitant; we just knew we were. We crept through the city, making sure to avoid confrontation as long as possible. After we ditched him at the club, we hadn't seen anything of her Father or any of his people. He didn't try to contact her, he hadn't sent anyone after her yet, and Sky thought she could get some sort of an update from Philip but, his phone now went straight to voicemail every time she called. At one point Skylar had gone completely silent and remained that way, staring out the window, for at least twenty minutes.
"Something isn't right. Stop up here at this gas station."
I quickly pulled into the station and parked at one of the pumps, Skylar ordered me to get out and pump gas. Once I was out of the car, she got out and came around to me. She ran her hands under my pants and around my waist before laying against me, she waited a few minutes before whispering, "Do not get caught looking this time. Did you see that SUV that just pulled in, I think it stopped three pumps down."
I laughed softly, wrapped my arms around her, and as we shuffled, I quickly glanced at the car.
"What about it?"
"It followed us in and stopped in a position where it could block the car should we try and run. No one's gotten out to pump yet. I'm going to slap you, spin me around, and pin me."
She didn't specify how hard she was going to slap me but, it was hard enough to throw me to the side slightly; I quickly grabbed her wrists, spun us around, and pinned her to the car.
"Punish me and peep the horse."
I bit down hard on her neck causing her to scream slightly, but she then began whispering, "That car pulled into a position to block us from behind. I'm sorry...slap me."
She shoved me away and spit in my face; as I wiped my face, I caught sight of the dark blue Mustang parked randomly to the back right of us.
I quickly pinned her back to the car by her neck this time, "What? Why?"
She quickly snatched away from me and turned away looking toward the station's building.
She's guiding again, slap her.
Before I could react, Haven took over and slapped her just as she turned back to face me; she stumbled and caught herself on the hood of the car. She then shoved me back hard and ran inside the building; once again Haven took over and quickly went after her. Unfortunately, this gas station is like a miniature supermarket, by the time we got inside she had disappeared. Thanks to the convex mirrors I managed to spot Skylar hiding back by the bathrooms and quickly made my way over to her.
"How the hell did you catch on to what I was doing when I told you to pin me but, when I told you to slap me you lost the tracks? Haven had to save that didn't he?"
"Whatever Sky, those cars are following us, could it be anyone you may know, or is your father using those vehicles?"
"I don't know, but they are following us. How are we going to get out of this one?"
"Let me think..."
After a few minutes, Skylar grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the window she was peeping out of.
