"How do you envision your ideal future?"
Public Entry
Author: Alhaitham, Grand Scribe of Sumeru Akademiya

Upon hearing this question, I find it futile to deny the fact that the nature of it is excruciatingly simple. Alongside that, it is too broad of a question and the desired answer might stem far from their source. Using my experience in the Akademiya as a reference, I'm highly aware of the expectations students face and the day-to-day endeavors they must face in order to maintain their status. Therefore, with this public statement, I seek to encourage readers to let go of their biases towards the Akademiya and dive into their own psyche.
For the past year, I've enjoyed simple, yet fulfilling solitude as my main ideal. It is a fact that there's nothing nobody can do better than you yourself. However, up until a few weeks ago, my everyday routine has been permanently changed. Dawn, noon, and dusk have been altered in a way I could've guessed myself. All things considered, having a companion who is one step behind you every twist and turn came to fruition. Now, I can't see it any other way, since

The rest of the page is ripped off, the letter box below it full of folded papers and letters, to the point where a bunch is spilling from over the side.

Footsteps echoed down the pathway inlaid with stone, alongside faint rustles of feet being dragged across the surface. But all that would be a common sight on a night like this, when the stars awake to observe the city people's vigilant routine.

Alhaitham made sure every sloppy step of Kavehs was conscious, for the man, reeking of booze and tavern, would occasionally flutter his eyelashes before slipping away into a sleep-walk. It was one of Alhaithams biggest pet peeves; just how easily this man can get wasted.

The silence between them spoke louder than any drunken words the blonde could utter. Despite his oath to maintain quiet, Alhaitham had dreaded many things. One of which was the stagnant shadow of Tighnari's stone-cold face, confronting him with the very thing he tried to avoid.

"What did Tighnari mention about a thesis?" Kavehs voice rang like a morning bell in the scribe's ear. Startled by his sudden awareness, he tugged the man's hand over his shoulder tighter, just to make sure he doesn't slip away.

With his eyes on the path, a reluctant sigh escaped past his nose. "You heard it?" He muttered.

A hiccup interrupted their conversation, but with a quick stagger with his feet, Kaveh continued. "Something like that." It was his usual drunk excuses, incoherent mumbles no sane person would pay mind to.

An echo of Tighnari's words rang in Alhaithams ears. Of course, everyone might know, but this person in his arms remained oblivious. He let out a chuckle, disguised as a sigh. "Just how drunk are you to have selective memories?"

Kaveh shook his head, straightening his posture, and took several confident steps. "Drunk enough to forget most of 'em." He puffed his chest, like a peacock with an inflated ego.

However, the moment his step slipped, Alhaitham was the one there to catch him before he lost his balance. Annoyed, his grip over Kavehs wrist fastened itself. "Let's just get you home." He urged the man, voice low and gruff.

Something about such care made Kaveh burst into a fit of snickering. He covered his mouth, even though it was a useless gesture. His absurd, yet alcohol-induced explained behavior had become a sort of habit for Alhaitham.

The building wasn't far, but the blonde's incohérent snickering was bothersome. Raising a brow at it, Alhaitham adjusted Kavehs body to make sure he doesn't plan on tripping. "Is it not?"

"It is." The blonde muttered. Though his messy locks covered most of his face, there was an undeniable smile spread wide across it.
