I and Connie had woken up from the sound of my alarm clock. We had decided to get ready and go to the skating rink that Coach had told us to meet at. I ran into Guy's room of course he was still asleep I rolled my eyes as I stepped into his room "GUYYYY" I scream at him as he jumped up and realized nothing was wrong "What is wrong with you taylor you scared the living life out of me" He asked me wide-eyed "You need to get ready we have to go to the rink Coach wanted us there remember" I told him while laughing cause of how scared he looked "I'm glad my pain is funny to you NOW GET OUT!" Guy had screamed the last part at me but me being me I rolled my eyes and simply just walked out and maybe slammed the door.
Me Connie and Guy were all in the car with my mom waiting to arrive at the rink.
We had made it I jumped out and I and Connie ran inside the locker room to get ready we were so excited to meet the new ducks. "I hope there is a girl," I tell Connie as I take off my white Converse "Me too cause I mean what better than two girl ducks...three," She tells me giggling
As we walk out onto the ice and Stood in a very not straight line around the edge of the rink tibbles and Bombay had walked in. "Tell me about my new ducks" Bombay asked Tibbles as we all watched impatiently. "Luis Mendoza he's from our Miami club. A real speedster incredible skater" Tibbles told us as Luis went off skating around the rink "I clocked him 1.9 seconds blue line to blue line" As we all watched impressed "Good looking skater" Connie smiled "Very good looking" Avermen laughed "Yah really really good looking what do you think Guy?" I had asked my brother with a small smirk coming onto my mouth as he rolled his eyes and looked at me "Shut up Taylor". As he pushed me down along with Averman cause I grabbed his jersey and just started laughing. "He has one minor proble-"Tibbles had been cut off by a loud bang and yell that had belonged to Luis crashing into the boards "Has a little trouble stopping" he told Coach "I'd say so" as the other newbies went over to help Luis up asking him if he was okay and.
"YEE-HAW! How is everyone y'all ready to play some puck" This boy had yelled around the rink "Hey look it's hop along Gretzky" Jesse said laughing to everybody "It's definitely hop along something" I said shaking my head "That Dwayne Robertson from Austin he's the best puck handler over ever seen" Tibbles told us all "You mean for his age right" Coach asked raising his eyebrows with a confused look "No I don't" Tibbles added shaking his head no "Hey this is easier then roping hogs! YEE-HAW" Dwayne had yelled from the ice "He kinda has a tendency to showboat" Tibbles added "Yeah no kidding" come on I had to get my two cents in this conversation
"There's Julie (The Cat) Gaffney. She won the state champs for Maine three years in a row" Tibbles said introducing us to yet another one but this was a girl so Connie and I was all eyes and ears "Well we have a goalie Goldberg" Coach tried explaining while looking over at Goldberg preparing himself as we got in line to take a shot at Julie first was Connie Julie saved it next was Adam Julie saved it then it Charlie Julie saved it but then there was me can you guess what happend SHE SAVED IT! "Well we could use a backup" Coach said "Coach better not ruin us getting a girl skater on the team I sware" Connie skated up to me groaning as I laughed to go get back where we standing before.
"Isn't that the kid from the Olympics? The figure skater" Bombay said genuinely asking a question "Yup Ken Wu what can I say I convinced him that hockey had more of a future. We put a stick in his hands nobody's been able to touch him"
When all of a sudden we hear some very very loud music playing from the side of the rink as we all look over there is this guy singing and skating as he pushes Charlie down on the ice as I smile me and him are gonna be great friends
But then we all line up and start fighting eachother except I am fighting with nobody me and Connie decided to just talk on the sidelines about how excited we are "EVERYBODY FREEZE" Coach yelled "Now we didn't come here to fight we can her to play hockey we're team USA you represent your country now I want you- "To be all that you can be right you gotta raise yourself up guys ya got" as Coach and Tibbles kept silently arguing everybody was laughing" Alright now let's scrimmage-Great scrimmage you heard your coach now" Tibbles screamed before Bombay could get a word out. "Hey you don't need me here I've got an appointment anyway I've got to go see miss Mckay she's the team tutor" Tibbles said grabbing Coach's shoulders "Don come on" holding his hand out for Tibbles whistle "You'll get it back at the end of the school term" which made the whole team laugh " Alright ducks let's show them what you got let's scrimmage"
I took center against Cowboy "Heya lady great day for some puck" Dwayne smiled " Sure is cowboy" I got the puck and flipped Dwayne over my back and skated well that lasted for about 3.1 seconds until pretty boy came up behind me and stole the puck and pushed me today is just not my day. "Hey man take it easy slowdown" Goldberg screamed you could hear the fear in his voice "Goldberg watch out" But it came out a little too late cause Luis and Goldberg were already sliding against the rink walls into the net "thanks for breaking my fall"
"Anytime" next round Banksie had the puck and was skating down the rink until Dean came out of honestly nowhere and flipped Adam then Jesse got the puck he shoots and well Julie saves it. "Haven't you guys been training in the off season" Coach asked me and Avermen "You know I knew we were forgetting something" as we both took drinks
Banksie had the puck again and was skating hard now he passed Cowboy he was at Julie he shoots and he scores "Good shot Adam way to show em" Bombay screamed round two I was front center again I had the puck I was skating then o got trampled by somebody not sure who though but Fulton got the puck all the old ducks skated away from the middle "LOOK OUT" We all yelled Fulton shoots misses hits the outer part of the goals the puck flys hits the ceiling and " DUCK" McKay said "that's rough the ducks as the puck hit him straight in the head.
As Miss McKay tried to get Tibbles awake we all stood there Adam on my left Connie on my right and Charlie behind me "Oh I'm sorry he didn't have a chance to introduce me yet I'm Michele McKay their tutor" as she shook Coaches hand. "Hello I'm Gordon Bombay their Coach"
"I think Coach has a crush I can already see the love in his eyes" I whispered over to Connie "Who said we need a tutor" Banksie boy asked with an attitude "Yeah I mean I would say we should focus on being a team right right left" as I shook my head "Yeah believe it or not I agree with Taylor" Charlie had look down at me with the smallest smirk and I seeing things or did he just agree and smirk at me but I was quickly tooken out of my thoughts by Goldberg" Now Miss McKay we're Americas team going off Taylor we should be focusing on hockey my I just hear me out suggest optional attendance" he asked wrapping his arm around Miss McKay neck. As every body agreed " that's not a bad idea Goldberg yes school shall be optional however however shall you not attend you will not be eligible to play" she had told us which made us all groan and whine.
It was the next day and we were all tied into a circle "Somebody better watch their hands" Julie said " That's what I'm saying Conway" I said as I turned around to face him since he was the one behind me "Don't flatter yourself Taylor" I just rolled my eyes "How do I make this any clearer you are a team and to win this thing you have to start acting like it now as one skate" as we all started to try to move and fell almost instantly which then resulted in Dean trying to coach and then Fulton trying to and falling again which led to me falling of Charlie "Sorry Conway" I told him offering a hand "No your not" reaching for my hand "Your right I'm not" taking a few steps back smiling "you guys can argue all you want but I'm not untying you until you move as one but after what felt like the 90th time we finally got it
Therefore Coach untied us and we all took a knees and "You guys are starting to look like Hockey players I'm proud of ya team you worked hard today but hockey should also be fun rancher Dwayne"
"Yes sir"
"Round me up some stray cattle there"
"My pleasure"
As we all took off skating Avermen got out first then Connie, Charlie, Julie, Goldberg then me and so on them the Cowboy taught us how to square dance and all I got to say is I'm a pro to say the least
But after that long day me Connie and Guy had all headed back to our house to go to sleep and boy did that take like two seconds
