"Where am I!?"
"We don't know!"
"Let us out!"
"The hell happened to me?"
Voices were the only thing the brown animal could understand.

They slowly open their eyes, and look around the room.
'Dark blue' The creature thinks, recognizing the color of the walls.
They slowly get to their feet, but immediately falls on their behind.
The ground feels very slightly warm and wet.
'But the floor looks dry?' The animal notices.

A horrible smell hits the animal like a truck.
It almost throws up, but holds it down.
The creature starts to regain its mental footing.
'I'm in a jail, of some sorts.' It thinks, slowly piecing together what happened.
It mindlessly looks down, wondering what's going on.

A pool of blood meets their gaze.
'Oh fuck' They try to step back, but they forgot they were sitting down.
It falls over onto it's back, and pain rings through their skull.
They bring their hand up to their head.
A wet spot in their fur greets their paw.

The creature instantly pulls their paw away in surprise.
Either out of curiosity or understanding, they sniff their paw.
It smells of blood.
This makes their mind finally stabilize.
'I got tackled and it knocked me out.' He remembers.

'Why and who tackled me?' The animal thinks.
He tries to replay the scene, but there's a hole in it's memory.
His mind keeps slipping as he tries to remember more about itself.
'I can't' It pauses, 'I can't remember anything about myself.'
Their thoughts get interrupted by another animal walking over to him.

"Hey, you alright?" The animal asks.
It's a blue penguin, walking on two yellow feet.
There's a red tag sticking out one of it's flippers.
"Uh, I think so?" The brown animal responds.
The penguin looks down and notices the blood.

"Oh." They say, worried. "Did you get injured?"
"Yeah, but I think its fine." The brown creature assures.
The penguin sighs in relief.
"So, what's your name?" It asks.
The animal almost tells them that he didn't know, but he remembers a name.

"It's Eevee." He says.
"Cool name. Mine's Kendal." The penguin added.
He looks at Eevee's red tag.
"Oh, the tag's for our name! Yours reads Eevee!" He announces.
Eevee looks at Kendal's tag.

"Uh, for you it reads Piplup?" He says.
"Piplup? I've never heard of that before." Kendal comments.
Eevee notices the other animals in the room walk towards them.
Almost instinctively, Eevee backs up in fear.
One animal looks familiar, and memory flashes in the Eevee's mind.

He feels a phantom pain in their spine and he falls to the ground.
A thundering crack fills his ears as they walk closer.
The Eevee begins shaking in fear.
The yellow animal just gets closer to the trembling creature.
The pain in Eevee's back slowly spreads to their legs, breaking them, killing-

"Sup. What're you doing?" The yellow creature speaks.
The pain Eevee was feeling immediately stops, as well as their shaking.
"N-Nothing." He says, slowly getting up.
"Okay. Name's Mike, but this tag says it's Pikachu." The yellow animal says.
The tag is embedded in his tail.

A red pig walks between the two creatures.
"We sharing names over here? Well mines Scott." It interrupts.
Mike looks a little annoyed, but quickly smiles.
"Well mine's Mike, although you may of heard. What's yours?"
Mike turns to the Eevee, expectantly.

"It's Eevee." He answers.
"Well I read your tag, and that checks out." Scott says.
"Although, I don't think any of our tags are correct."
"Like, they called me Tepig? Thats not even close!"
"How did you read your tag?" Mike asks.

"Oh, they told me what it said." Scott signals towards the tan and green bird.
They're talking to Kendal when Eevee looks over to them.
"Let's go join them." Mike says and Scott nods.
They walk over to the two birds.
"-Names Kendal, by the way." Eevee picks up the last part of his sentence.

"Nice. Mine's Stella." The tan and green bird responds.
Kendal is about to say something, but notices the other animals walking over.
"Oh, hey!" He waves to them, making the other bird turn around.
"Hello!" Scott says.
Mike waves back, just because he's the only one of the group who could.

"So, what the actual fuck is happening?" Stella asks.
The creatures can't answer without guessing.
Eevee's mind isn't paying attention to their conversation anyways.
His dream is the only clue to what he, and the rest of the animals, are.
So he keeps replaying it, over and over to try and figure it out.

Their mind feels foggy though for some reason.
Eevee decides to give up on deciphering that.
"Why are we these weird animals anyways?" Scott comments.
"I don't think we are real animals." Mike responds.
Eevee almost disagrees but barely remembers that it was a dream.

"Just making sure, you guys were human, right?" Kendal asks.
Eevee gets hit with another wave of confusion remembering that.
The group responds to the Piplup with a wave of nods, except for Eevee.
He looks towards the blue penguin and tilts his head.
"What's a human?" Eevee asks.

A small chunk of the wall slides into the floor cleanly distracts them.
They stare as a figure walks through the doorway.
They're wearing some sort of protective suit, and stares at the creatures.
Mike runs towards the doorway, only to get sent flying by one of the figure's leg.
They hit the wall and the floor soon after.

"Mike!" Kendal runs over to him while Stella flies over to the figure.
Her attacks are futile as she gets thrown to the floor.
Eevee instinctively backs up and soon all the creatures do too.
The figure keeps walking towards them, not saying anything.
'This is how I die.' The brown fox thinks.

His mind flashes something he remembers from a few days ago.
"Eevee use quick attack!" The trainer's voice breaks through the fog.
He feels a sudden power in his paws and launches himself at the figure.
They both fall over, Eevee rolling painfully and slamming against the wall.
The other creatures stare for a second, then run towards the door.

Eevee gets back to their feet and follows them.
The outside world seems dead, gray walls and clean white floors surrounding them.
They're stuck in a giant and endless maze of halls.
Alarms blare through the labyrinth as they reach a set of doors.
The group of creatures run out, finding themselves in a bigger hall.
The glass walls show rooms, with more figures doing various activities.

A scream makes Eevee focus back on escaping.
A large group of figures are pointing at them and yelling.
"Who's pets are these!?" The creatures run past them without a second thought.
They almost keep running down the hall, when Stella notices a door.
"Guys!" She yells, and everyone else notices.

They throw themselves out the door and make it outside.
Eevee looks around, admiring the world he was so used to.
A big asphalt path is blocking them from reaching a forest.
Kendal steps onto it, and jumps back to them.
"Frick that's really hot!" He comments.

"We need a place to hide!" Mike says.
They quickly look around and notice a large bush.
"There!" Scott runs towards the bush and they all follow.
The bush welcomes them as everyone catches their breath.
Once they stop, Eevee's legs start to hurt.

'I must've put a lot of energy into that Quick attack.' He thinks.
The group of animals just sit in the cool bush.
Eevee looks around and notices the figure looking for them.
They soon give up and walk back inside.
Eevee sighs in relief, lays down, and goes to sleep.

I'm just gonna be honest, if the writing seems weird that's because I wrote the first half five months ago. I really just forgot about this for a while.
Anyways Cy'all! I _ < <3
