Yibo was battling his own battles when the bed dipped at his side making the omega's heart froze.
"Yibo." Zhan's stern voice called him.
The alpha's proximity and powerful pheromones tipping Yibo to the edge. Yibo hugged himself tighter, his fingers digging on the flesh of his arms whilst he kept his head lowered between his folded knees.
Zhan implored him. "Be honest with me." Zhan's tone held authority yet somewhat becoming more calm.
"That child, Su." Yibo almost stopped breathing when Zhan mentioned his son's name.
"He is my son." There was no sense of dubiety in Zhan's statement.
"I marked you that night, didn't I?" Yibo's long lashes fluttered, vision blurring with unnecessary tears. The images of the past hunts him, hurts him the same it did when it all just happened.
"I changed you." Zhan's voice was quiet as if it was laced with remorse.
Yibo blinked away his tears, not wanting to cry, not wanting to show how affected he was. For unknown reason, his heart was in turmoil. He had not foreseen his feelings getting messed up during such a confrontation. He had envisioned it coming: secrets can't be hidden forever. Yet, Yibo can't fathom how both yearning and dreading something could be mixed up in such an unwarranted situation.
