As Zhan scrabble through his thoughts, Yibo dejectedly watched his slumped back.
Yibo didn't want to feel, knowing since before that Zhan would never accept him...never forgive him. But seeing Zhan after four years, makes this omega's chest sting with mix hurt and hope.
An alpha can reject his omega, but an omega will stay loyal 'til death. Zhan's mark on his nape will forever stay and Yibo won't ever be sufficed, won't ever be contended, won't ever love if it isn't his alpha.
His eyes turned misty.
Full of longing.
Full of regrets.
Full of self-blame.
Yibo curled into a ball, hiding his face between his knees. Feeling so small... Feeling so embarrassed.
He chortled silently to himself. Mocking himself for what he is.
Look at him.
He was dirty from his work as a street sweeper. His clothes were old, tattered on the ends. His hands were calloused from working seven days a week to make ends meet. His once jade skin had turned dark and unsightly. And his face... Yibo held back a sob. He looks so ugly, so revolting, so unlikeable.
His alpha is just an arm stretch away... but who is Yibo to hold onto Zhan and dirty his expensive clothes? Who is he to ask his alpha to heed his way, only to see the ugly omega he has turned to? Who is he to beg to be seen when Zhan has better options, Goddess-looking omegas to please him? Who is he to request to be acknowledged when he was the one who ran away because he would not be able to bear the hatred in Zhan's eyes when he looks at him?
