The Bet (Levi X Reader)

Chapter 9: September

"(L/n),"Levi says walking out onto the training fields, as you roll your eyes before speaking to him. "What, Ackerman?" You snap, already knowing what he is going to say.

"I'm winning," Is all he says, making your hands ball into tight fists, knuckles turning white. Levi notices, as a slight smirk tugs at the corner of his lips. "It's okay brat, you'll either pass me, or stay below me," Levi teases, as his voice stays emotionless.

"I refuse to say below you, Ackerman," You snap, folding your arms across your chest. "It could be fun though, brat," Levi says, making your eyes widen, 'Since when was he this flirty with me?' you think to yourself, as your eyes meet his, silver ones.

You feel your breath hitch in your throat, as you look into his eyes.

Has he always been this goddamn sexy?

Levi's eyes rake your body up and down, subtly, as you swear you died for a second. Subconsciously, you check him out as well.

Now it was Levi's turn to die, which he was certain had happened, as he swears his heart stopped beating, and his breath caught in his throat. He swears his legs went weak for a moment, of course he feels this way; the girl he's in love with just checked him out. He was surprised he didn't pass out.

"I have to go....wash the grass," You say and practically run away from him, mentally facepalming yourself for saying such a lame excuse.

Levi simply raises his brow as he watches you run away from him, 'Wash the grass?' he thinks to himself, wondering where you came up with such a stupid excuse, before shrugging his shoulders, and walking away to go make Eren regret his life.

"It was fucking weird, Hange! It was like we had a moment," You say, as you lay facedown on the floor of Hanji's lab. "What exactly happened?" She asks, not bothering to look up from her experiment.

"Okay, so first we were teasing each other about the bet, then Levi said that I either pass his score, or I stay below him. Then I said, I didn't want to stay below him, and that's when he said that it could be fun. Then we exchanged the moment," You say, your voice muffled by the stone floor of the lab, as you squish your face into it.

"Referring to checking each other out and you realize how sexy he is?" Hanji asks, as she pours a green liquid into a red liquid. You simply give her a thumbs up from your place on the floor, still trying to catch your breath from explaining the situation to her.

"Well, I think Levi wants you to hop on his train and take you for a ride," Hanji teases, as you feel your face grow hot. "Hange!" You yell at her, while lifting your head up to send a glare her direction.

"Don't knock it until you try it," She winks at you, "Oh my god! I'm leaving!" You scream out of embarrassment, as you pick yourself off the floor, and leave her lab. Before you can close the door behind you, she shouts "Go for a ride on the Levi train!", you flip her off, as the door shuts behind you. You leave her lab, and walk upstairs to the first floor of HQ, gripping your hands tightly in your hair, trying to rid that moment from your brain.

"Well Ackerman, I'm winning," You smirk, putting your hands on your hips, as you look at him in the common room. "Ah yes, you're no longer below me. What a shame," Levi smirks, standing up from his place on the couch, as he steps closer to you.

"You're so weird," You blurt, rolling your eyes at him. Levi clicks his tongue, "Thank you," he says, standing in front of you, crossing his arms over his chest, as his silver eyes look you up and down. "You look pretty today," He says, and you immediately feel the heat rising to your cheeks.

"Why are you-- why?" You stammer out, flustered, at his words. Levi raises a brow at you, and steps closer. "Why do you look pretty today?" He asks, and you nod, frozen in your place as he leans down to whisper in your ear. "You look beautiful everyday, Brat."

Your stomach flutters with butterflies going crazy. You've never felt this way towards, Levi. All this time you saw him as, well, sort of like a friend, nothing more. Levi doesn't even back away after he whisper into your ear, he just stands there, his right hand hovering next to your waist, debating if he should touch you or not.

"Hey, Levi," Someone calls as they enter the room, you and Levi quickly disperse and look over to see Erwin. "I need help with something," Erwin says, as Levi glares at him, before following him out of the room.

Before Levi's out of view, he turns around, and looks at you with a soft gaze, before turning back around and following Erwin.
