╰┈➤ "Miles, do you know that guy?!" 

"He's uhm, my uncle..."

"Miles are you shitting me right now? The uncle we were just going to visit? Miles, this is not good, he's trying to kill us!"

"I know"

"He's going to find u-"

"I KNOW!!"

Slightly taken aback by his outburst the girl apologizes, "Sorry, this can't be easy."

A broken sob escapes the boy, poor kid.

"We should, uh, go find the others." Ranger says, taking Miles' hand in hers and soothingly tracing her thumb over his knuckles.

The two walked in complete silence, it wasn't the awkward kind of 'someone-please-speak-this-is-so-scary' silence, it was comfortable, they didn't need words to know they would always be there for each other through the highs and lows.

Miles and Ranger burst into Peter's lab, "My uncle!" He says, slightly out of breath and heaving.

"Hey, where have you been, we--"

"My Uncle Aaron, he -- he -- he'sthe Prowler!"

"Ok, slow down. Slow down, Miles." Peter tries to calm Miles, unsuccessfully.

"He works for Kingpin, he tried tokill me! He tried to kill us!"

"This is a pretty hardcore originstory." Spider-Noir says.

"Shut up." Ranger rolls her eyes at the black and white spider man.

Miles fights tears. The spiders look to Peter, who doesn'thave the slightest idea of what to say.

"It's okay, it's okay, we're gonnafigure it out." He says after a slight silence.

"Were you followed?" Gwen asks the two.

"No. I don't think so." Ranger tells the blonde girl.

A slight rumble sounds, and then Doc Ock crashes through the front door. A tentacle shoots out and knocks a tea tray out ofAunt May's hands.

"Cute place. Real homey." She says, sarcastically.

"Oh great, it's Liv." May groans.

"I take it back, we were followed... Oops?"

"Get out of here kid." Peter tells Miles.

Miles turns to run into the kitchen but is blocked by Tombstone, "You messed up big time kid. Verysloppy."

Tombstone pushes past, revealing Scorpion behind him, "Mira todas estas arañitas." He says. 
(ENG: Look at all the little spiders.)

"Let me guess, you're Scorpion?Well, we're the, uh... Spider-gang." Peter says, failing to look cool.

"Would you mind taking this outside?" Aunt May says, looking at her currently-being-destroyed home. 

Spider-Noir responds poetically with, "We don't pick the ballroom we justdance."

Doc Ock's eyes flash as she sees the new goober hanging around Peter's neck, "I'll be taking that." She says, reaching her tentacles towards Peter.

Miles, being cornered by Scorpion, uses throw cushions to defend himself, unsuccessfully. 

"Stand, niñoto, dale." He says
(ENG: Stand, little boy, bring it.)

"Prepárate a morir." Miles says back.
(ENG: Prepare to die.)

The couch cushions are stuck to Miles' hands, perfect timing. Luckily, SP//DR comes in to save Miles whilst he unsticks himself.

The battle has made it's way onto the roof and into the neighbouring streets. 

Miles gets up out of the rubble in the small living room, the goober in his hand. The Prowler swipes at Miles, his claws narrowly missing his face, " Give me that thing!"

Miles races through the house, the Prowler in pursuit. Theyface off, the kitchen table being the only thing separating them. 

"Don't be stupid, kid. Hand it over,now--"

Miles races up the stairs, Aaron close behind. He grabsMiles' leg but Miles kicks him away, continuing upstairs tothe hole SP//DR blasted through the roof. Miles scrambles up through the hole onto the roof but before he has a chance to do anything at all, Prowler lands in front of him, "Nowhere left to run,"

Miles pulls off his mask, revealing his identity to his uncle. "...Miles?"

"Uncle Aaron."

Aaron too, de-masks, looking at his nephew. 

"No no no no no."

Miles whispers out, "Please, Uncle Aaron." Hoping his uncle will show some sympathy.

"Prowler, what are you waitingfor? Finish it." Kingpin calls from below. 

Aaron pulls down Miles' mask, andbacks away, his hands up. He smiles at Miles when...

BANG!

Aaron is shot. His eyes go wide and glassy as he falls backwards. 

Miles scoops up Aaron and swings away. Lt. Jefferson arrives and sees two people swinging across thestreet.

Peter and Ranger swing through Miles' dorm window, to see him tearing at and wrecking his room in rage and grief.

Miles takes a deep breath, holding back tears.

"We've all been there. For me it wasmy Uncle Ben."
"For me it was my Uncle Benjamin."
"For me it was my father."
"For me it was my best friend."

Ranger says nothing, already having told Miles the story before.

"Miles, the hardest thing about thisjob is you can't always saveeverybody." Spider-Ham says from the desk chair in the room.

"Look, it was my fault. You wouldn'tunderstand."

"Miles, we're probably the only oneswho do understand--"

The doorknob rattles.

The spider-gang sticks to the wall as one as Ganke, Mile's roommate comes in. Continually moving one way or the other to avoid detection,the spider gang notices that Ganke sits up. Lifts up his comic and lowers the comic to see Spider-Ham. 

"Hey there!" Miles says sheepishly

"Do animals talk in this dimension?Cause I don't wanna freak him out--" Spider-Ham starts, but it's too late. Ganke has fainted.

Miles puts Ganke into the bed. When Miles turnsaround, Gwen's climbing through the window, only Peter remains in the room with Miles and Ranger.

"What's going on?" Miles asks.

"Bye Miles." Gwen says.

"Miles, I came to say goodbye." Peter says.

"We can say goodbye at the collider." 

"You're not getting it. You'restaying here. Both of you."

"We need to be there. So you can allgo home."

"They are going home, Miles. I'm theonly one staying"

"You're taking my place? If youstay here you'll die."

"I'm doing what needs to be done. Ijust wanted you to hear it from me."

"What about MJ?" Ranger asks the man.

"Not everything works out, kid. Ineed the goober." He stretches his hand out to Miles for the key, "Please don't make me take it fromyou."

"That's not fair! You've gotta tellthem I can do this!" Miles is furious

"It wasn't their decision."

"I gotta make Kingpin pay! You haveto let me make him pay!"

Ranger steps back, not wanting to get in the middle of this. 

"Miles, you're gonna get yourselfkilled."

"But I'm ready! I promis--"

Peter does a combo move, nearly knocking Miles to the ground,if Peter wasn't there to catch him.

"Then venom strike me right now, orturn invisible on command so youcan get past me."

Miles can't do it, and it breaks Ranger's heart to watch. 

 Peter webs a desk chair under Miles, spins the chair, andwebs him into a cocoon, and takes the key, "I'm sorry."

He webs Ranger upside down from the bunk beds in the room, knowing she wouldn't break free if she was upside down. He webs their mouths shut when Miles asks when he'll be ready.

"You won't. It's a leap of faith.That's all it is Miles. A leap of faith."

And he leaves.
