It wasn't long before they arrived at her aunts house in Trollbäcken. Carolyn let out a content sigh. Alex cut the engine and turned to look at Carolyn.
During the car ride he often chanced a glance at the woman sitting next to him. He watched her ever so often smiling softly or pulling her long brown hair behind her ears. When she found something amusing on her cell phone the corners of her mouth moved up showing the dimples there and her blue eyes shined with delight.
He couldn't help but notice the familiar feeling that started in the deepth of his heart. It had been a while since he had someone by his side, but Alex quickly shook it of, telling himself that Carolyn probably had a boyfriend or even worse a husband waiting for her.
Carolyn smiled at Alex. "Thank you, for bringing me here."
He laughed softly, is eyes shining brightly despite the dread he felt. "Don't worry about it, I was glad to have your company."
Both got out of the Range Rover and walked around to get her luggage from the trunk.
Alex heaved it out of the car and put it down, so Carolyn could take the suitcase. "Thanks."
Carolyn looked down at her hands gripping the handle of the suitcase. It was a nervous habbit of hers that she always had to pull a strand of hair behind her ear.
"So, um." "I'll, uh." Both laughed and looked at each other and smiled.
Carolyn grinned. "Well, I'm glad I met you, Alex."
"Me, too. Maybe I'll see you around."
"Yeah." Carolyn smiled. She could hear laughing and giggling coming from the house. Looking back there she saw her aunt, mother and cousin all sticking their heads out of the door.
Shaking her head she turned back to Alex blushing at his smile. "I'm sorry. I should probably get inside."
Alex smiled and rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, of course."
"Good-bye." Carolyn said unsure of what else to do.
"Yes. Bye." Alex said shortly and went back to his car. Waving a last time he drove off.
"Great." Carolyn muttered and made her way over to the house.
"Hey, hun." Aunt Marie said pulling Carolyn into a hug. "I'm so glad that you are alright."
"Yeah, luckily Alex found me on the road and brought me here." She said and went over to kiss her mom.
"Carolyn!" she heard her cousin Olivia call out. "Spill the beans."
"What do you mean?" Carolyn asked looking at Olivia.
"That hot hunk, that drove you here." she couldn't understand how her cousin could be this excited.
"That hot hunk was Alex. He offered to drive me here. End of story."
"What do you mean End of story? He was goddamn hot." Rolling her eyes Carolyn walked into the house and put her luggage in her usual room.
"Please Olivia, leave it be. He was, yeah, he is incredibly sexy, but..." she stopped looking at her cousin, who was more like a sister to her. "He probaly has a girlfriend anyway."
Hearing herself say those words shot a pang of dread into her heart. She wanted to believe that he wasn't taken.
"Oh, babe. I'm sorry. I didn't want to push it." Olivia said sitting her cousin down on the bed.
"No, it's good. I'm over it." she already knew that as soon as the words left her mouths Olivia wouldn't believe her.
"If you're sure. How about we get your car tomorrow and then we'll look at the next city over."
Smiling Carolyn nodded her head. "Yeah, that would be great."
"Good. Now I'll leave you to unpack your things. Mom wants you to come down as soon as you're finished."
"Okay."
